As long as SE dangles a currency at the end of the line that can yield gear improvements, I HIGHLY doubt what you claim will actually happen.

I think it's from experience with Camp Westwind. When that was not in DR, queues were in excess of several hours from old posts on the forum. As you said, if they took the currency out (from the DR), there would no reason other than kindness for those who have already done the story to go back. I could see a situation happening where if CM / Prae were removed from DR, the queues would skyrocket.
