    Or maybe the speed runners would decide to quit when they heard him and then they could be replaced with others that may be okay with a slow run.

    It's always good to discuss your intentions at the start to avoid misunderstandings later on. People got different goals. DF is free for all.

    By the way, in no way do I support that kick. But I'm looking at the situation and trying to offer the OP the solution to avoid this in the future. Because speed runners are going to continue to be speed runners, we all know that.
