You're assuming that's what the roulette's made for. It doesn't say anywhere that it's for that and only that. Even if it was only implemented to help new players(and not at all to encourage vets to use and enjoy older content), simply completing the content still counts as helping. Waiting around doing nothing for however extra amount it takes for new players to watch cutscenes isn't necessary to complete the dungeon.

If the content was strickly made to watch the stories with new players, then skipping cutscenes wouldn't be allowed in the first place and there wouldn't be a party finder option for watching all cutscenes.

This right here is the key point.

These Roulettes are there as incentive for older players to assist newer players in completing the early objectives of the game. If a new player in the run wants to watch cutscenes the older players should accept and wait for them. Not harass them. Not run out and finish the dungeon without them. That is what the reward is provided for. It's not there for people to speed run through once a day for loot.

Too many people forget that.

As an aside, if any new players on Goblin are reading this and want someone to queue CM or Prae with that will not skip cutscenes, send me a message in game if I'm around. I won't promise I'll be available to help all the time and may have other things planned, but if I'm free I'll gladly lend a hand.

It was an idealistic-but-naive developer decision to include so many cinematics inside an instance - one that is unfortunately being compounded by a very lazy GM policy.

Just get rid of Main Roulette already. Those of us that actually want to help newer players will check the Party Finder, and the self-centered players who are only in it for the tomestones can go cry in some dark corner that "casuals made them lose a daily source of tomes."

You need to understand that you will find some people here (like everywhere) with no healthy bounderies with other. There is a lot of irony here. Yes, indeed the roulettes were added to give you an incentive to help newer players and reward you for doing so. But guess what? The incentive is utterly destroyed and buried deep into the ground when CM/Prae turns into a 50 minute run that rewards you with 100 laughable tomes of mythology (and 0 soldiery) because someone wants to watch the cutscenes. Honestly, I don't care myself because I stopped doing the main quest scenario LONG TIME ago precisely because of this. Just keep going this way and you'll turn the main scenario roulette into an absolute graveyard and new players will have to wait entire hours to get their runs. Then, probably, they'll complain about that, but they'll have it well deserved.

This is probably thread #69043863 about Duty Roulette: Main Scenario being terrible. Rewarding high levels to speed run story heavy dungeons was and is always will be a design flaw, especially when Mythology Tomestones are everything now.

To developers, please:
Kill - Duty Roulette: Main Scenario
Add - If a new player is present in the party, the first time clear bonus of +200 Mythology Tomestones is awarded to the whole party (only applicable for 8-man pre-mades).
