With that i can agree 100%. What i dont like is the fell that most people want a parser to evaluate other people and if they don't meet theirs standars they will start kicking other people out or leaving the instance.

I love the official forums, they tell you to use the search for thread about what you wanted to talk but when you use it they judge for necro a thread.
Those few that will use it that way 1) will be reported and hopefully punished 2) they are alredy doing it
I would be totally fine with that.
No idea what country youre from but if you seriously believe that people need to get paid to show this form of dedication youre completely delusional. Where I am from almost every single boy does it until he hits the age of 18. Some dedicate 6 days a week to training, with a match on the weekend for literally no reward apart from having fun and improving as players.
But I guess youre simply not capable of understanding what term passion actually stands for or simply too lazy to properly commit to something.

I wouldn't mind having dps meters ingame. Just like in WoW, it would help me show people how bad they are at their class.
HEH! HEHHEH! HHEHHEHEHEHEHHEHEHHHEHE!
I'm so toxic.
I never said that? I just said no one in my current FC uses them.
I never said that either. I said it happens.
Maybe you are, but not the OP. Read the beginning of this topic. Most pro-parsers here want them to judge other's DPS, not just their own.
I think [GM] Dave does several articles about why Third Party Software will never see the light of day on a Final Fantasy MMORPG. This includes Parsers I do believe.
~ Eternal Dawn FC ~ Male Player ~
So it's okay to waste the time of people who are paying for a service just because you don't want to learn how to play? That's asinine.
You should read this "pro parser" topic a little better, especially early on.
It's FULL of people advocating that you should use them in DF to kick people.
This happens a lot in ex primals & coil.
No one in my FC uses a parser (I know them all personally IRL)
My last FC with hundreds active, different story.
I've seen partial premades vote kick in DF more than a dozen times already.
The number of times I've seen "bad dps" and then vote kick pop up is disgusting.
I am sure lots don't do this, I try to believe not everyone is a d-bag, but enough are that it's a problem.
Subjective and anecdotal evidence. Provide objective arguments and actual proof that this is as widespread as you claim.
There are hundreds of possible gear sets around the ilvl110 gear range and parsers actually do in fact gather all that information. With the limited end game gear choices and lack of material slots on dungeon drops this is meaningless past i90.
You look at an i110 piece of gear and compare it to any i90 and tell me if you really need help choosing.
How many i110 armor sets are there again?
The only use I could see for a parser beyond i90 is skill rotations in which the highest DPS rotations are often quite clear.
Parsers don't measure stuff like interrupts & silences, raising other players, songs to restore healers mp or tanks TP, proper use/timing on sleep, bio, eye for eye, agro reduction, or many of the other things that are just as important if not more than dps.
The only thing these types of skills do is lower DPS and if you can tell who is doing stuff like this you're smart enough to know a parsers limitations and that they are not needed nor an accurate depiction of a players skill.
It is clear your knowledge of parsers is based on anecdotal evidence, subjective arguments so if I were you, I would refrain from talking about this topic since it is clear that your knowledge about parsers's capacity is highly limited and as such, it makes your credibility on the matter questionable.
Exactly. Tanks and healers are already subjected to people's critics, which is what a lot of DPS are afraid of. DPS are not special snowflakes that shouldn't be criticized ever.

People need to stop connecting parser use with being an abrasive/harassing/"dbag" player. I've said it before, I'll say it again:
If someone has it in them to harass another player, not having a DPS meter won't stop them.
I'm definitely for the addition of DPS Meters. People use parsers already. Clearly. In fact, it's due to this that the metagame developed so fast, and will continue to do so with any new classes/jobs/skills/adjustments. As always though, many are keen on taking notice of only the bad, which is usually very easy to spot and "in your face" whilst being ignorant of all the good that comes from having access to DPS feedback.
Now, I think a lot more needs to be done to early levels and in general how the game handles the leveling/learning process for DPS jobs, because having DPS meters would not be the solution to bad DPS as a whole. The solution to players at level cap who do horrendous DPS is to remedy the lack of DPS walls that would halt progression until you take the time to figure out the right rotations.
What DPS meters are good for at endgame is (besides the whole testing bit) figuring out who is holding back DPS. This doesn't necessarily mean kicking them. The decision to kick or harass is entirely separate from the use of the tool to ascertain the responsible person.
