The thing is without parsers some people don't even have any idea how bad they perform. If they would see the HUGE difference between the numbers good players pull and their own they would actually want to improve themselves. But since we don't have any numbers they just asume they do perfectly fine because they stay alive durring the fight and attack every once in a while.
They are the ones who call players who pull aggro from a bad tank off and tell them how bad they perform when in fact they do 3 times the damage of the person calling them off.
No matter how I try to look at it, knowing your numbers only helps you to improve.
Not allowing parser actually only hurts the console players because they have no way to use any, even if they want to right now.
Of course there are also the people who use parse numbers to tell others how bad they perform but those people don't need parsers to do so because they are jerks and will do it anyway.

Doesn't matter, he did 460 dps, someone else should do those things because his numbers are too big
That a good DPS survives is a given, or else their DPS would drop because death players don't do any damage.
More often than not adds only mean even more DPS because depending on your class you can safe your AoE and finishing moves for the extra damage.
CC is something the tanks usually handle in that case, a DPS might wanna hold some of their cooldowns back like charges and some off-global cooldown stuns.
A bard on silence duty should also be able to do so without underperforming.
while I agree that the Stigma you mentioned before does exist in some games i.e. WoW it should not be the case in FFXIV.
But yeah like mentioned before jerks can be everywhere and they don't need a parser to piss people off.
