Controller problems on PC

First off thank you to anyone that reads and replies.

Ok so I am a lvl 50 bard and have played the game thus far on my pc using an xbox 360 controller. It has worked wonderfully this whole time since back 2.0 was first released until about 3 weeks ago. What my problem is, is that about every 3 or so minutes my character will continue doing whatever he was doing for about 3 or 4 seconds. This is very problematic especially for instance if I am in the middle of fighting titan. I'll be running to dodge and then all of a sudden, oh look I've run off the edge.... Basically at that instant the game thinks I am spamming the run button.

Now I have tried reinstalling the driver for the controller many times and even tried reinstalling ffxiv all together and I am still having this issue. This is not happening with any other game that I play using the controller. I even bought a new controller and tried that and still the same result.

I am grateful for any help that will alleviate my situation

All I can tell you is I also have this problem with my Wired Usb xbox360 controller, but not with my Dualshock 3 controller.

Are you using a wireless 360 controller? if the batteries get low, sometimes wireless interference gets in the way and can cause that.

Another problem could be the analog stick's dead zone. I have a similar problem when I play games using the XB360 controller. I'll think the stick is in dead center but I still move due to the sensor's sensitivity. The stick itself becomes loose over time and you need to increase the radius of the dead zone before directional input is registered in order to avoid unintentional movement.

have you added anything to your pc recently? such as blue tooth? what you want to do is isolate your blue tooth and wifi as much as possible....this is assuming you are using a wireless controller. I had the same issue with my ps4 controller via bluetooth, when i had the bluetooth dongle directly connected to the back of the pc, i would get the problem you are describing....i solved it by adding a 25ft extension usb cable and isolated the bluetooth dongle and it solved the problem. i realize this does not help you in your current (wired) situation....i would agree that maybe the dead zones on the sticks need to be calibrated....thats all the info i got.

I have been running into this since 2.28 with a wired Dual Shock 4 controller, I have tried different controllers, different USB ports, and different USB cables and it is still happening.

I posted this as a bug, instead of just a Technical support issue, it was moved to Accepted, and then to Not a Bug

Hopefully, if more people see this issue and report it, someone on the dev team will be able to reproduce it and fix it, or roll back the change in 2.28 that caused this to start happening

I use 360 controller wire no issue at all not sure why you guys having issue.
