Ninja - Armors to get?

In the interview with Massively Yoshida-san answered this question :

Naoki Yoshida, producer: First off, because the class is going to be a melee DPS-type class, that gear that you have for other melee DPS classes and jobs is probably something that you'll want to hold on to. On the other hand, weapons are all going to be new because it's going to be a special type -- the dual wield. While you can use existing gear, the weapons will be all new and players can have fun collecting them. As for the special and Primal weapons, there will be rogue and ninja versions."

So obviously for accessories we will have to get STR ones, but for the armor, do you think they will use the Gloam set (the monk one)?

I assume MNK/NIN will share the same gear, based on the Fuma set alone.

Agreed. Fuma is a dead giveaway in my eyes.

Like mentioned before Monk just makes the most sense.

Are we sure it is going to STR based?
Isn't Rogue traditionally DEX based?

Ninja's have been an AGI class, but the way the stats are set in this game, it will have to be a STR class, because DEX is for range combat.

Agreed. AGI doesn't exist, and DEX is specifically accuracy and ranged weapon damage. My guess is guns will be DEX based, but daggers will be STR based. I also agree that the Fuma gear is an obvious sign for MNK/NIN gear sharing - neither of those jobs are known for wearing heavy armor like a DRG. They'll wear nimbler clothing.

Depending on how they make it scale that would be quite OP with crafted gear and main stat materia in it.
