Are you alone in FFX:ARR ?

So I have played FFXIV for about 2 months and it still feels like I´m not experiencing FFXIV: ARR 100%
    Why ?
None of my friends want or play FFXIV
I enjoy this game and I´m asking you. Do you feel the same ?

I have already tried joining an FC (free company) but its was too big so my presence didn´t really matter. That works for some and not for others ...

So I´m seeking people in the same situation

    Create an FC ?

That is unfortunate to hear. Some players like big FCs while others prefer a more private group. I am going to assume after all this time, you have received a number of friend and linkshell invites though.

Unfortunately, I'm not on your server. But if you are looking to start a group, my suggestion is to use those contacts in your friends list and linkshell to find other players who share your interests and whom you know you can get along well with. Think of an activity you want to do with them and set up a LS. You can upgrade to a FC later, but the LS lets you recruit all of those contacts without forcing them to leave their current FC. If they want to leave later and join you in making a FC, that's their decision. Start small and work yourself up.

Alternatively, if you don't want to lead a FC, simply having a group of friends (even if you only met them in-game) in a LS or a small FC is doable. You probably will not be able to run massive guild events, but that's perfectly fine. Many small FCs do well just treating their members as a static group for dungeons and endgame content. There is no particular leader, although a group of players will have the responsibilities of setting up recruitment and organizing events for the group. I would recommend having at least one goal related to the content, e.g. a coil static, or helping other players run lower level dungeons with a group of players who know what they're doing, or even just a group to chat with and do whatever comes to mind together.

Hope that helps get you started. Good luck.

"a number of friend and linkshell invites though" -- Nope
I have received lots of FC invites though.

That why i have created this thread
Make contact with people who wants to... well be friends and stands alone... but no speciel goal yet
that´s to be decided when time comes

    I was in your place.

Since Beta3, I could barely do dungeons because my main was SMN and DPS queues were lotta worse than are now (even when game launched).

I joined a FC, but nobody knew me, I tried talk but had those small friend groups and I couldnt join anything, even as lv50. Leveled SCH and made it my main. Could go in some dng faster but yet, mostly solo/pug(pick up group aka df ppl).

That got me depressed and I stopped playing for like two months because I had two hours to play everyday, on which almost one just queueing.. Depressing. Specially because of tomes of philosophy farm in AK/WP.

So a friend called me to join his FC. I created another char to not pay transfer cost and could level lot faster, did dungeons with him and his friends, and today I'm BRD ilv93 with his help. But mostly what kept me going was because I had a friend (and FC) who deserved my dedication and effort (Thanks Legacy Wolfwood) <3

So yes, playing solo gets you depressed after a while. Having friends is what makes me dedicate my time on the game, because we chat and laught at the skype while doing raids. And even outside raids, we have a chat group on skype so we chat while at work.

I hope you find a friend soon.
And if you happend to pop by Coeurl, I can invite you to our FC. It's small but we got our house now and stuff, so it's fun.

There are a few smaller FCs, like the one i am. We are pretty small, but whenever we are on, we talk to eachother and do things together. Never alone. It's best to join smaller FCs, build bonds with people. If you were in the same world as me i would invite you

I feel as though I've played 90% of this game solo. The group I'm with now attempted to make a new fc but our schedules made it difficult to all be on at the same time.
So we just joined a larger group last night.
I've found lots of small FC's searching lodestone last night. I don't see how they keep active, since the in flux of new players is less than the number of people who are done and leaving.
Guess I would suggest joining a larger fc and ask if the have linkshells too.

None of my real life friends play either, so I just made some friends in game! It's just a matter of finding an FC that's right for you.

It depends on the server. I stayed on Mateus for a short time that had a decent population but the people in some FC were cold. A friend invited me to Balmung server. Balmung was overpopulated with so many people and it's heavily RP (role-play) and most of them were high-leveled. Fortunately I had a friend who helped me for a bit. But my friend maxed ALL of his class levels, so we didn't really play together much except setting up a FC together to just chat. Then I was having problems with the long queues trying to get in Balmung. It was then that another friend wanted to buy the game and play with us, but Balmung had character restrictions because it was just too full, so I decided to try yet another server just so the three of us could start over with new characters. I went to Midgardsormor and found myself to be completely alone. The server was very quiet, even empty and lonely at night time. So I have my frustrations too trying to find a good server.
