    A Breath of Life

    The game feels fresh again.

    /inb4itwasfreshbefore?

It felt fresh to me when I started playing after release, but that only lasted about a week. I now feel engaged within the game again.

Just standing in Ul'dah last night reminded me of the feeling of wonder and awe I had when I first logged in months ago. I actually enjoyed hearing the same old city theme song that I have had on mute for so long now. It sounded new again and reminded me of the good times when everyone was new and didn't realize there was nothing to do yet.

Well now we have stuff to do! I'm not saying the game did a complete 180 but it's definitely heading in the right direction now.

    Keep it up, SE.

Yes theres a lot more to come to make the game aweosme. but i wont be in the loadstone waiting for the new stuff ...ill be PLAYING the game waiting on new stuff... Something i suspect lots of people inculding me have not done in months.... actual playing ... and having fun.

There was tons to do for the first couple months. So many new recipes and possibilities.

Now it's like you can kill the Instanced Raid bosses for gear that's not even as good as stuff we all crafted since before christmas. Or you can kill them just to be able to say you've killed them.

    I don't know...

Sorry to rain on your parade, but I'm just not that enthralled as you with this recent anti-FFXIV tide of change sweeping through FFXIV.

I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder. I found the game to be very monotonous rather quickly at first. Sure, there was plenty to synth and plenty to level, but within those two categories the options were quite limited. And synthing felt like bashing your head against a wall for the first several months. It was one of the biggest "chores" I have ever experienced in gaming.

I wouldn't worry too much about lack of new recipes and items. They are obviously focusing on mechanics right now. Once they've got the new ones in place and the kinks worked out, then we'll start seeing a ton more items and recipes, I'm sure.
