Here is why weekly lockouts work much better in other MMOs. Because in almost every other MMO your character can only be 1 class. In FFXIV your character can play every class.

Exactly. On other MMOs you run it as a healer, then as a tank or DPS. On FFXIV you run it as a healer and you're done. You don't implement features only because other MMOs do it. You have to take into account how it is going to affect your game. Not every MMO is the same.
