Pretty much this - the original 1.0 main storyline was not connected to the fall of Dalamud - it was ultimately never resolved and pretty much abandoned (especially the idea that in 1.0 at the start most of the events the player actually wasn't even experiencing - they were simply viewing people's memories through the Echo), with the basic ideas reused in ARR (dealing with the Echo and it's origins, and the rising threat of the Primals and the Ascians).

A rehash of 1.0's original storyline thus wouldn't make much sense as most of it has been retconned anyway. Really, if you're wanting to experience the original story, as DefendPopPunk suggested, just watch the cutscenes on Youtube.

To be fair, the Op asked for version 1's storyline, not the main story line. It could very well be intepreted to mean the whole story of version 1, which obviously includes the FC storylines too. I mean, things like Dalamud descending in the sky, the Lambs of Dalamud quests, the Hildibrand being shot up to Dalamud scenes and the waves of enemies in Ul'dah etc happened regardless of where you were in any particular quest line.

Edit: Oh, and Atomos being... well, Atomos.

You nailed it. I have watched videos on YouTube, but would have loved to experience that story myself.

You can't even compare that. The Wings of the Goddess storyline was quite annoying to do and had so many prerequisites that made it only for the die-hard fans to really go out of there way to do, not to mention with all the story content in the game already. I was heavily interested in the storyline but it was just so incredibly lame with the prerequisites each individual thing that I never did it. I beat Promathia and Aht Urghan, but I couldn't muster that storyline.

This game is easy, so none of those issues would arise.

The entire White Raven and Dalamud storylines were on a blu-ray that came in the collector's edition.

The thing I remember most from it was Nael van Darnus blowing your dudes up then turning to walk away into the flames like Sephiroth, only he was doing this jiggy little sashay like you know Kefka totally would if he'd had FMVs.

That was when I knew I make good MMORPG purchasing choices.

Not gonna happen, it was an exclusive to the legacy players as a thank you for sticking around.

Nice idea but I doubt it will be implemented any time soon(if they decide to do it). The devs seem to have a lot of stuff on their checklist.
Many suggest to watch on youtube, but the feeling of watching someone else's character vs watching your own is different, at least thats how I feel xD

It's still just watching someone else's character in YouTube videos, but in case anyone is interested, here's an old thread in the v1 forum archive that documents the old cutscenes in sequence.
