    I love newbies!

I was running Tam Tara the other day (levelling low alt classes) and there were no newbies running it and I actually missed having a newbie in the party.

That nervous greeting at first, the awkwardness of their skill rotations and the wariness of bosses we have stopped caring about and possibly die...a lot.

    I love running with newbies!
I feel that it is so important that we make new players feel welcome because we were newbies once and had awkward rotations and not aware of tactics and possibly died...a lot!

So when you are in a dungeon and you have a newbie for the first time, appreciate their awe and wonder at their first run and make them stronger with advice and a bit of care.
Because the newbies of today will be the pros of tomorrow.

I like teaching people how to properly play the jobs as well, makes it a little less boring playing the same dungeons 10000x

    I agree.
Also remember, newbies are the lifeblood of an MMO.
The more new players the game attracts the better the game will do in the long run.

Newbies are one of my reason to keep playing a game because their fresh start gives me a motivation to do stuffs for them like helping them gear up with my crafts or run a dungeon. New or players leveling for endgame in my FC always get free stuff from me whenever they want to or sometimes I offer to give them gears so they feel well-geared. I even just gave out a free Astrolabe (60k at market) to a member trying to pump up ilvl for relic.

There will always be people who are rude to new players. But honestly if you're running a duty finder what do they expect?

I agree with all of this, and I still consider myself a newbie. There is always something that you can learn, and do better. Last night I got The Lost City of Amdapor in Expert Roulette (my absolute favorite dungeon, honestly). I had only ran it a couple times before, and had never done the doors during Diabolos (it was always a ranged DPS that did them). Well, this time I had a tank and a monk explain exactly how to do them, when to time them right, and then we got started. We had 3 phases of Ruinous Omen, and I didn't miss the doors once. We had a successful run, and I felt a huge sense of accomplishment. My point with this story is that it is always best to try and teach those with less experience or knowledge, rather than expect everyone to know all of the mechanics or even the best use of abilities, regardless of level.

Now, I'm sure as an ilvl 78 WHM I am expected to have at least a good handle on how to play my job, but there will always be a first run of every dungeon, even at endgame. I haven't ran Garuda Ex, King Moogle Mog, or Coil yet, because I am a little nervous about my skills and the fact that I don't know the fights (Youtube helps, but nothing compares to seeing it unfold for yourself). If I go into those trials/raid with a great party like I had last night, with people who are willing to help and not try to rush through the fights, I know I will have no problem.

I know this is pretty long-worded, but I have one more point to make. To those who just want to rush through a dungeon without taking the time to help less experienced players: it is your fault that there are players running endgame content with bad habits. Instead of teaching them early on how to play their job, you carry them through the lower level content just for your tomes. I've seen ilvl 90 DPS run stuff like Tam-Tara or Copperbell as if they were a tank, meanwhile, the lvl 20 tank has no idea what is going on, can't gain or maintain aggro, and we make it through the dungeon with no problem. How is that tank supposed to learn how to be a tank? Slow down, help each other out, and it will help you and the community in the long run.

    Sorry for the rant.

    So true.
I love your sig gif. That poor soul that runs in and then dies immediately...it always makes me laugh.

Any of you guys in Odin server? You'd love me, I only found out limit break at level 26. Honestly I'm loving this game, hoping to get to know more people and learning more.
