Gave myself a 30 min timeout!!

K, so I posted a lil while back how I am actually enjoying WHM, still am. Yesterday's incident needs to be vented. I am sure we have all been through it, it just kinda boggles me that it prolly happens so much.

I finish the expert daily on my pld and have some time left so I decide get the low level out of the way on WHM to get a lvl before I have to hit the gym. Sound idea yes?

Well I get Copperbell Mines. No biggie.

We enter and I pop tect and say hi...

Dead silence.

Well, I buckle my belt and get ready for the ride.

Tank starts in, body pulls, and runs a circle around the mobs. He finally hits a mob when he is at half health, so of course I cast a cure, i get aggro off two bunnies. He doesn't move. Just stays with the first. One of the archers starts attacking a different bunny and pulls one off me. So a GREAT start.

I ask the tank if he has flash, politely. I am told yes, so I ask him to use it.

Next three pulls are the same. I am loosing my patience. On the last pull before boss room. He is not even engaging all the mobs, everyone but him has threat. I let the one he did have exact my vengance. He is a puddle on the floor.

One of the archers says to me "Syn, heal the tank please"....

Now this whole time the tank and archers are non responsive to any conversation, their behavior is awkward, runnig into walls, walking in specific patters, and the tank is walking through the dungeon.

I see I am in a party with a GLD and 2 ARC. I think to myself, ok, we are all synced but maybe they aren't to the point they can get soulstones yet, or they like cross class abilities...

Then the names stick out. All pretty much the same, **********x, *********r, and one seemingly normal name (second archer was on PS4 thus the no chatter).

Great I am in this effing duty with some bots.

First boss, add easy, aero and stone = dead, plus two archers, no need for that tank. Boss comes out, archer tanks (the one I suspect is the other conscious being).

Trash, trash trash. Second boss, the pudding. Well the bots killed three blasting caps before they registered my shouts of "DON"T TOUCH THE CAPS". Tank had no threat, so I said fekk it and Medica tanked it. Adds spawned and I aero'd them and kept on with my medica. Couple mins later we finish that boss and the human archer says, this last boss ain't gonna go so good.

I make a last attempt at conversing with the bots, no avail. I vote abandon that is rejected.

So I apologized to the Archer and gave myself a time out.

Is this a common thing in low level dungeons now? Bots?

Sorry for the tl;dr type post but I had to let this one out.

At any rate I was still a bad ass heals! I mean, I tanked some puddins!

I haven't seen any bots myself, but I think somebody either on my server or in the forums also mentioned a similar thing. I hope SE gets on this if it starts becoming a thing.

Sounds like an experience I had long time ago, while leveling my SCH. Exact same situation 1 GLD and 2 ARC. And like you I left but no penalty, previous healer had left I was replacement.
Only one ARC spoke like he was the GLD.

I suspect more multi boxing not controlling at all the mechanics than bots (or very bad bots). Maybe same guy came back

Is this a common thing in low level dungeons now? Bots?

I'm always skeptical about the existance of 'bots'. Probably more like a multi-boxer, but I did have one really weird experience about a month ago.

I was in Tam-Tara and the tank was unresponsive. The two DPS and I were talking up a storm, but nothing from the tank. As soon as the ring dropped, he ran forward (actually started running before, but couldn't go anywhere until it dropped). He body pulled the first set of mobs. We all politely asked if he could use any form of aggro management, but there was no response. As soon as the trash was down, he immediately moved onto the next set. What was odd was that he would always run to open a chest, even if it had already been opened. He would also run to every corner of each room. It was just weird because the chest would be opened by a dps during a fight (we were curious to see what the tank would do once we started to catch on). Then after the fight, the tank would run over to the chest and target it, then run to each corner of the room, then onto the next room. As soon as we downed the final boss, tank was the only one watching the cutscene. As soon as he was back in the instance, he exited.

Like I said, I don't know if it was a bot or not, but there was definitely something strange about the way he acted throughout the entire dungeon.

Throughout my entire playtime levelling up in Duns to get all my jobs to 50, I had encountered at least 10 bots, came in variety, whether it is Tank,DpS, or Healers.
Tank bots never used AOE threat generator, only stayed at one mobs at the time, ignored the safety of the whole party, running ahead of everybody else even though we were waiting on purpose to let him die, yet he resurrected back and went awol again, and we were still waiting on purpose, used the same pattern of attack over and over. Somehow, I managed to break a few bots by letting them die over and over. I run as the healer.
And occasionally, up till now, when I run Duty Roulette:Low level, I still encounter them here and there. First, I broke them, second, I reported them, Third, I leave the duns and well, gave myself a 30 mins timer....

Don't worry it was probably me, I thought being a tank I could just roll over enemies and deal massive damage.
