    questions about Thaumaturge

I have two questions regarding Thamaturge:

Is it better to cast scathe after every spell? (Fire > Scathe > Fire)

Does spamming Fire one after Fire III yield better DPS then just Spamming Fire III?

Does spamming Fire/Blizzard III increase emity on mobs?

Does spamming Fire/Blizzard III increase emity on mobs? don't think so

Although Scathe is a quick cast spell, dealing damage in such pattern gives slightly lower damage compare to using Fire until you out of mana as Scathe is not affected by your Astral stack so the damage is constant, Fire increases in damage for each Astral Fire. Scathe is mostly best to be used on a target that your party member is about to finish off (To prevent spell that requires cast from wasted), on an event where you have to move very often so you can still deal damage.

Yes it does, because Fire III has slower cast time so your average damage will be lower than you use all on Fire. Besides you will utilize the Firestarter Proc which gives you a chance to immediately use Fire III after casting Fire.

Does spamming Fire/Blizzard III increase emity on mobs?
Any form of damage still do I think, if you are worry about your enmity and if you have plans to level archer get the archer's skill Quelling Strike that gives you a buff that reduce your enmity generation.

I answer all this base on my play experience as BLM, hope it helps.

Just to add to kinneson's point. If you follow the tank and what they pull you shouldnt have aggro issues. Where you get in trouble is aoe as blm (fire 2 and flare) where you can pull by accident.

But thats a ways off. The other posts above me have it nailed (and I main blm)

I spamed scathe a lot when I started out, but yea once in dungeons it's not super useful, unless you wanna get that final blow in there.
My current rotation is Thunder II > Fire III > Spam Fire I (if proc shows up with above 1000 mp, I then Fire III > Swiftcast > Fire III > Transpose > Blizzard I > Repeat. If Thundercloud hits at any point, I try to use it after the swiftcasting. This is what I have done in lower level dungeons, so I'm sure it will change come end game dungeons.

Scathe is a filler for inbetween when you have to move because the cast time is very short. Better reduced dmg than no dmg. Otherwise, Fiiiiiiirrrrreeee away.
