Party auto-sort on entering instances.

Is there a way to turn off auto-sorting the party list every time you enter an instance? I'm not sure how to explain this clearly, but in 2.25(I think) I was able to auto-sort manually via "/psort" command and then tweak a little and it would stay the same every time we re-entered an instance (Leviathan farming). But now it's become somewhat of an annoyance after I've sorted my list initially, it's now always switching the tanks around and occasionally the DPS if I tweaked those too.

Maybe other healers will understand, I hope this is clear lol.

I feel you 100%. I enjoyed 2.25 'remembering' how I had my party sorted. I like having my tanks at the bottom of my list, now I need to reshuffle upon every dungeon entrance. A minor enough annoyance that I don't run CT as a healer specifically for that reason. Well, that and I need tank runs to get my mount achievements...

Have you tried to adjust the sorting order tank/heal/dps via the Party List tab under UI Settings in the Character Configuration interface?

You can set up your party auto-sort under Party List, it's a new feature in the last update. You had to re-organize the party list either way so not sure why the complaint? Hit O and sort your list manually like any other time, that hasn't changed at all.

Yes the auto-sort order can be chosen:

• tank>dps>healer
• healer>dps>tank
• etc

You can have different orders based on which role you're currently playing. It's nice, but I do find that I'm always making fine adjustments. For example, I prefer

Healer
DPS (Ranged)
DPS (Melee)
Tank (WAR)
Tank (PLD)

I like the melee grouped with tanks and ranged with healers so I can see easily when to cure 3 or medica. Also melee dps tend to get hit more than ranged dps in my experience - having them next to tanks (which are normally selected) makes them easier to target using a gamepad. I find that PLD is normally main tank (for some reason) so like to have that person at the very bottom. Using the gamepad the top and bottom players are easiest to select (from no selection).

The auto sort does the following:

Healer (me)
Healer
DPS (Melee)
DPS (Ranged)
Tank (PLD)
Tank (WAR)

So each time i enter the duty I find myself swapping the dps, and sometimes the tanks order. To be honest the tank order isn't a big deal since many fights have tanks swapping emnity and there are times when it's handy to have main tank right beside the melee dps.

I feel that the party order is of greatest importance to healers (particularly pad users), so unless someone has a reason they prefer melee dps listed above ranged dps, I'd love for the auto sort to be altered in a patch so it's always ranged dps above melee.

Other options would be to add "No (auto) sort" and / or (fully) "Custom" sort.

I sort like this:

1. Healer (Me)
2. Healer (Other)
3. Tank (MT)
4. Tank (OT)
5. to X. Bard (assuming there is at least one)
X+1. to 8. Other DPS

lol, I knew people would find it hard to understand what I was saying. It's not about just sorting tank/healer/dps, that's fine the way it is. It's about sorting PLD, WAR and occasionally the DPS classes if you already sorted them and tweaked it a bit manually before entering.

In 2.25 I was able to have WAR above PLD when WAR was MTing, but now every time we re-enter it switches them around no matter what. Tbh it's not a big issue but I think it was better before this auto-sort on entering. I'd like an option to have it on or off really.

I can see why they wouldn't add a more detailed sort for each class, it's kind of pointless. So the new auto-sort thing is fine but I'd like the option for it to be turned off on re-entering instances.

In turn 7 I prefer to have the ranged under the tanks but everytime I would re-enter it sorts the party so melee are on top. There should be a way to lock the party so any manual adjustments made don't get messed up whenever we enter an instance.
