Yea, ok.
If there was any "unforeseen bugs" because of this hilarious butt-karting people would've said on the forums already by now, strange how there's not a bug report for the weapon glow that's easy though eh?
The unforeseen bug is a brown streak across the moogle rug. And I just steam cleaned that yesterday!!
This isn't a joke you know.
This breaks the immersion level that those of us in the game like to have and seeing players move like statues on conveyer belts instead of running is just plain wrong.
Why can't you understand that I'm trying to report a bug. Glitches do not belong in games. I'll admit there are a lot. But this one is visually displeasing.
I'm not trying to be a spoil sport and ruin I the fun. I'm just taking time to do the right thing for the betterment of the game.
So sad that someone would report thisit's massively entertaining!
There's really two sides to this:
1) Respectfully, most MMOs aren't really about immersion. Sure it's there to some degree, but most of it is going to be between fellow players and/or in a player's head.
I mean, when the Lightning or Dragon Quest cross overs happened it wasn't exactly immersive right? That and every single player is the "Hero of Light" (or whatever equivalent in various MMOs) You could probably lump Dragoon jump-noise-shiney-blasts as "immersion breakers" too.
However, 2) This is a bug, and there's no harm or foul in reporting as that's what this forum area is for. I don't think it will be fixed because honestly, having played FFXI, most cosmetic/un-game-breaking bugs simply get ignored by Squeenix.
(see Jump-of-Airship bug, or the "why is my upper half not moving while I run" bug)
Since this can not be game breaking, from a coding point of view, I highly doubt it will be fixed. (It's just a mistake in the animation loop, it has no effect on your ability to move or interact with the world)
" This is a bug, and there's no harm or foul in reporting as that's what this forum area is for."
Agreed, I don't get why all these people are attacking the original poster.
If you do the /sit and change your pose to sitting on your knees, any /emote you do will switch you back instantly to having your legs stretched out again, will do the wave, and then instantly switch back to you sitting on your knees. It's really weird, like they didnt test this at all.
Basicly you sit on your knees, wave with your legs stretched out, then sit on your knees again...
Does anyone tried that on the PvP?
Doing it as a Healer, the ppl will not know what are you casting (unless target you to see the casting bar?)
I HIGHLY support the OP. The fact that there are people insulting the OP because they actually appreciate quality and rich game play is quite absurd. If you like looking ridiculous there are plenty of games where such things can be accomplished.
I also would like this addressed as swiftly as possible.
