I vote no....
The game needs some aspect of player choice. Too much is spelled out for you (such as what gear to wear). Play scholar a lot? Then it may be in your best interest to allocate some points to support that job. Prefer summoner? Likewise, best allocate your points to support that job.
I understand why some players want this, but part of the joy of building a character is making choices. There is already very little differentiation amongst players of the same job outside of what part of the end-game gear progression you're currently at.
For a game that has a big selling point of "level up and enjoy every single class!", it's kind of ass-backwards that you can't play Scholar and Summoner efficiently.I vote no....

Choice is great and all, but when it goes in the opposite direction of a major selling point of the game, then that's when I have to question it.

Do BLM and WHM share attribute points? Oh "but you levelz 2 jobs by just levelling one claz", I don't care, if I have to level SCH and SMN separate I will, but I can't see WHY I can't play both at full potential. We are talking about a healer and a DPS role, COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. It's as if you tell me now that if you play PLD you can't play BRD because they share attribute points because...how was it again? "the game needs some aspect of player choice".I vote no....

Sadly, it's one of the reasons you see so many BLMs and so many few SMNs. Assuming you are into healing, if you happen to like SCH more than WHM (which happens easily given how dull and boring the WHM is), if you want to play a caster class, your only viable option is the BLM. That's a terrible idea, TERRIBLE idea.
That stupid because Summoner and Scholar are completely two different roles and use completely different equipment. I would agree if they were both healers or both DPS then they would be more in line with other MMOs that have specification points or talent trees. The jobs are hardly specific with the class having the majority of your traits and skills.I vote no....
