What if - What if Ninja Utilized Intelligence AND Strength

    Ninjutsu - INT based damage
    Blades - STR based damage

Allow individuals ninjas to scale one way or the other, and make both viable, whether it be a Magic Heavy ninja or a Melee Heavy one.

Doubt much it'd ever happen, but would certainly add some variability in the game.

in DCUO, Jobs had Precision and Might as stats, Precision affecting weapon damage out, and Might affecting damage done by powers. So depending on your focus, you could get alot of variation.

For that matter, what if they brought out Corsair with a Melee Weapon AND a Ranged Weapon, and gave motivation for using both or focusing on one v. other. DEX & STR.

You mean like STR increases attack and INT increases Magic Attack ?

In most games, hybrids are only flexible until someone famous discovered an absolutely better way to play it. After that, anyone that play different ways will be scrutinized to death. It's an illusion of choice but also it's basically herd mentality. Never works out well.

Ninja seems like a dex character seeing as we already have 2 str classes and dual wielding daggers/short blades requires more dexterity and finesse than actual strength. I highly doubt that SE will Ninja have double stacking stats. All the current jobs only require to put all 30 into one stat be it vit for tanks, str for drg, etc.

I think SE missed an opportunity to make classes more diverse by not giving us multiple stat stacking but that would be hard to balance and we all know how important in-game balance is to them.

Yah that was NIN's fate in FFXI...and the devs went with the flow even though they still had the chance to reverse the player base's direction. In any case, how do you imagine they would design the AF/Myth gear stats for this idea? In FFXI it would just mean having certain slots that favored each side of the job (BLU Empy gear did this well), but that wouldn't really work in XIV without other raid gear complimenting it. That would make NIN the single hardest class to gear potentially because gearing full Myth/Soldiery or full Coil gear would in effect gimp the NIN badly on both physical and magical counts.

Yoshida already mentioned that you would want to keep gear from your other melee dps classes for ninja :x

Chances that you need other stats is slim

We don't have two "STR classes". Every close range weapon is affected by STR, be it DRG, MNK, WAR or PLD.
NIN will be at close range, so...

Why do people start seeing stat-class like Diablo 3 ?!

I'm almost 99.99% positive this will never happen. For starters, DEX is clearly outlined as increased ranged attack power. So, unless they entirely revamp the way stats work for a single job, this will never happen. It'd also be pointless to have DEX increase their physical attack, seeing as that's what Strength does already. It'd be two stats doing the same exact thing.

Second, it's been shown that they're going back and adding in equipment for ninja in past content. We've seen concept art of the Leviathan Dagger and for the Coil 2 Dagger. In line with this, we can assume they are going to be making some sort of armor available to Ninja from Coil 2. As opposed to making an entirely new set and further spreading out the loot tables for endgame content, I can almost guarantee you they will stack Ninja on top of another job's gearing, much like how Black Mage and Summoner share their equipment.

It's going to be Monk and Ninja, and I'll give you three solid reasons as to why that might be. One, they're both martial arts. Historically, martial arts based classes have more or less shared gear, like in FFXI. Two, Monk wears more balanced armor than Dragoon. Dragoon is considered "heavy" for melee, and their equipment's defensive bonuses reflect this. While Monk has a lower physical defense, it's magic defense is balanced with it. Dragoon, on the other hand, has a much higher physical defense, and a lower magical defense. It'd only make sense for Ninja to be wearing the "lighter" class of armor, given it's agile nature.

Last, but not least, we have the Fuma set. In line with what I mentioned earlier, SE has shown that they're working on gear for Ninja in previous content. You would imagine they would want to add a set of gear for them in the Labyrinth of the Ancients, right? Give Ninjas a reason to do the first portion?

Remember what everyone said this armor looked like when it first came out?
