what if dungeons could have rare mob and boss variants? of course they would drop better gear but also be harder and have more hp.

I dont think this is specifically from PSO, I know WoW has rare bosses too, but it would be neat, particularly if they were hiding in some room most people would skip. Might encourage more people to go through every part of the dungeon
I'd like music for your room since some PS games had that for housing.
PSO actually came out in 2000! but I'm sure other games have had rare enemies before that, however I don't know.
Ha dont mind me, Its 6.30am for some reason I was thinking of PSO2 that came out recently. I tried the old PSO once and didnt get into it, played PSU more
With PSO, rare 'bosses' weren't hidden anywhere. You always had the boss at the same point. But the exact example that comes to mind from PSO is when you fight your first boss, De Ragan, who was a fire-type dragon. He could sometimes spawn as an Ice dragon with different loot iirc. It's been a while since I played my little FOnewearl.
I liked PSO.I don't remember rare bosses but I do remember the rare enemies that dropped special rare loot. Iirc the bosses changed with difficulty. But I'd love to do Haukke HM and wind up fighting another boss instead of (or after?) killing that succubus queen.
All PSO bosses were different on the highest difficulty. They were always the same every single time on all difficulties lower than max. Rare rappies were a thing though. Gosh I miss the PSO days.
you know.... FFXIV 1.0 had this too
that one empty room in totorak? yep that is one example
Some of the older wow dungeons had/have rare spawns, not necessarily bosses though. This actually wouldn't be a bad idea. It would be nice to see something like this in the zones themselves too.
Id like this a lot![]()
