Sightseeing Log #48

If anyone has done this before, you'll know that this jump is nigh-impossible to reach. After spending an hour trying to get to this spot, my friends came down to test this and we cannot reach it unless it's some sort of fluke.

The window for reaching this spot is 5hrs Eorzean time. You just cannot reliably get onto this wooden stake without tearing out your hair in frustration. SE have you tested this out yourself? Have you tried reaching this spot yourself and realize how tough it is to make this jump?

After a full 2hrs (real time) I was still unable to make the jump. I'm really disappointed that you guys put something like that in there. What was to be a somewhat pleasant experience turned out otherwise.

lol, its an easy jump and I've seen douzens of ppl standing on it

if you cant manage it ask a friend with ressurection to do it for you, just die and he can ress you that you respawn on that thing

The timing is really unforgiving. You have to go back as far as you can, and jump at the point of the log. I ended up landing on the vista and running right off again on the closest attempts I had. Eventually I lucked out and someone that was already on the vista offered to teleport me up to it via raise. I pulled a bunch of mobs, died near them, they raised me and I was on the vista... unfortunately all that took long enough that the weather changed. I ended up standing there on the log for another few hours before the weather was right again. This one is by far the most frustrating one to get to.

I also find it odd that neither the Wineport gate, nor the cables over Mor Dhona were spots.

I would like to rebump this as I'm desesperate as well. I've been trying for hours and days, and I'm thinking I just can't get that vista. If someone can help me in Moogle server I would really apreciate.

It is not impossible!
However, some things to note to make it easier, if on pc.
1. set the frame limit to 30
2. use keyboard and mouse.
3. stand in front of the pole on the top of the pile of logs, and move a few steps to the left, approaching it from this angle has the most chance of getting it.

I got on top of this this other day and raised a friend who was having trouble herself onto it.

Set your frame rate limit to 30 and this jump becomes pretty easy

Sightseeing Log 48 needs to be fixed. It needs to be fixed, because it is currently broken. The fact that it is physically possible to make the jump under certain (very narrow) conditions does not mean it isn't broken (from a balance standpoint). The fact that you have players resorting to altering frame rate settings to make the jump possible is sufficient evidence of this fact. If the jump is tuned to the point where your frame rate settings easily make or break your ability to perform this jump, then it is clear the jump is too tightly tuned and needs to be loosened.
