    how to become bard?

    Hi, i chose a archer for my first character and have noticed i can become a bard at level 30. But ive browsed the web and as a requirement i noticed i need to be a level 30 archer "And?" level 15 puglist? How does this work? I've played Aion before as my only MMO and although im pretty much the best of my class on my server i cant seem to find out how this second job works? Can any one elaborate on this?

    Just level Pugilist up to level 15 and you're done. On FFXIV: ARR you can unlock and level each and every class / job up.
    Pugilists' Guild is located at Ul'dah. Progress on main scenario and eventually you'll get a free airship pass for travelling from your starting city-state (Gridania in your case) to the other city-states. Once at Ul'dah, speak to the NPC at the Pugilists' Guild's desk to unlock that class. Once you have completed the quest you'll receive starter PGL weapon; just equip it and kaboom! now you've become a Lv.1 Pugilist. As mentioned before, level it up to at least Lv.15 in order to be able to unlock Bard.

    PS. Do not forget to save your Archer set before changing to Pugilist. Search in-game for details about Gear sets on Active Help menu.

    People are probably referring to the Cross-Class abilities. The Bard can use some abilities from the Pugilist and the Lancer. The Lancer is not at all required for the Bard Job.

    Heya Erza Aegis ^^

    //
    Question: you are saying you are the best on your server being archer 19, or were you referring to AION? (dang now I miss it >.<)
    //

    As per this answer given to you in quotes:

    If Bard will be your main (and so far it seems like it), I would 'suggest' to lvl up Lancer (Dragoon at lvl 30 if you want) to 34 to unlock at lvl 22 Invigorate and 34 Blood for Blood.

    If you want to be your best, these will surely help, even if not necessary. Using Invigorate to gain a boost on TP while singing a MP regen song for others, to continue dishing out damage with your arrows, that's how you can help your party, for example.

    Welcome to Eorzea! ^^

    Hello I'm new in this game. I just want to ask something.

    Will I received side quests from switching to other job class? If for example Pugilist, will I receive Pugilist quests?
    Because someone told me to save my side quests for my other job/class.

    Each class / job get their own class / job quests and hunting logs, so when you start a new class they will be there for you. However, you won't get new main scenario or side quests to replace those you've already done. People usually recommend only doing main scenario and class quests to level your first class as they alone can take you to 50 and saving all side story class exp for other classes when possible.

    For new classes you can use hunting log, class quests, dungeons, FATEs and side quests to level them. After the dungeon exp boost that might be the fastest way.

    Ok, thanks for the information. I really appreciate it.
    Looking more forward to this game.

    You'll get class quests from the Pugilists' Guild, but that's only one quest every five levels. (They're important quests that help teach how the class works, and some of them unlock additional skills, so it's important to do them, but their XP isn't enough to level up on.) The hunting log is also class specific, so you'll get Pugilist hunting targets in addition to the targets for your current class. Those go a long way to helping you level up (especially in the early levels).

    Spreading out sidequests between different classes used to be a bigger issue than it is now. When the game first released, there wasn't really any repeatable content other than dungeons and FATEs, and the dungeons didn't give as good of XP. People wound up grinding FATEs a lot to level up, which could get boring all too quickly. So people tried to get as much of their alt-class leveling as possible through the limited set of one-time-only sidequests.

    Through various updates, dungeons have been changed to give more XP and have faster queue times, beast tribe (daily repeatable) quests have been added, the (weekly repeatable) challenge log has been added, and guildhests now get bonus XP the first time each is run on each class (rather than just the first time ever). And that original standby, FATEs, are still there as well of course, though they haven't changed much. In short, there's a much wider array of content for leveling up alt classes than there was originally.

    As a result, whether or not you ration out your sidequests among all your classes is less important than it used to be. I'd say at this point you can pretty much do the sidequests whenever you want to include a bit more story in your game, or when you want the reward items they offer. The repeatable and class-specific content can get you XP when you need it.

    When in doubts consult official guides at Lodestone or mobile app Libra Eorzea:

    And yes - it's Pugilist you need to unlock the first Bard quest
