    Resistance Materia Useless?

Hi guys so here is the Q do you think the Resistance Materia is kinda useless Yes or No. I know i don't really use them as a DoM i go for INT / Vitality / Crit H.R / Spell Speed and others. Also i see that the DoL & DoH Materia are big sellers on the market place. The Resistance Materia is not that big as far as worth go's. They sell for really cheap so what do you guys / gals think?

Please I'm just asking so don't go off topic by telling me. I'm holding my team back by not using this or that. I just want to know if you guys / gals use these Materias. Maybe I'm over looking these Materias usefulness if so let me know in a nice way please.

Not generally useful, no. However, when spirit binding, a bonus is given for any materia slotted on the item - so you can use the less useful materia to help you crank out better ones. Someone did the math once, and I want to say the impact is pretty significant; like a 20% gain per materia slotted or something in that ballpark.

Hmmm? i see i have tons of old gear i put on just to 100% S.B it so you are saying along with doing that i should also put those low rank materias on the gear as well to up the chances of even better materia

For every meld onto a piece of gear (materia type/grade doesn't matter), the spiritbond rate increases by 25%. That is what they are saying.

Exactly. For low level stuff, it SB's relatively quick, but if you equip some i70 gear for the sole purpose of converting it, it's going to take a long time. By putting some low level trash materia into it, it will SB 20% faster for each slot you put a materia into (plus a little more bonus if it's HQ). So if you're not going to use the materia for anything else, that's what it's for.

Early in the game when 2.0 came out, I experimented with putting a few Earth Materia 3's into my Vanya gear and accessories when I fought Titan. Made absolutely no difference, as far as I could tell.

As another side note, converting gear while the materia is still slotted is a waste from my experience. It won't guarantee a higher grade of materia if there's materia already in there.

I'm sorry i didn't mean to sound like materia type/grade mattered because i know it doesn't. When i said low ranking i ment junk materia as in (materia i don't really want) And seeing as how it's old gear and i just want to s.b and convert it i should put those junk materias on the gear for the bonus. That is what i ment sorry about that.

I am keeping them in case we need them for the relic weapon upgrades. Who knows what they'll come up with next lol.

Pretty sure elemental resist materia only exists so you don't always get something desirable (thus increasing the rarity/value of the actual good materia). I hang onto mine, but only until I get 5 of a particular tier to go hand into the Goblin for transmutation.
