The unmarked door that lays ajar at Proud Creek

Hey all was wondering if I missed a quest about it but in the North Shroud at Proud Creek surrounded by the Dullahan there is a unmarked door that is slightly ajar. There is a non formal crest on the door but other then that it has no markings nor map location similar to that of the door that leads now to The lost city of Amdapor.

Is this a unmarked landmark, a creative background, or a bread crumb to new content?

There are many places that are "Door Ajar" or "Stairways to Nowhere" throughout the maps.
Placeholders for further content through patches or expansion.

My guess would be that the door leads into the ruins of Gelmorra. The underground city, along with the ruins of Belah'dia in Thanalan, are two possible dungeons that may one day arrive in future patches or expansions.

It's part of Gelmorra Ruins! It's the only above-ground structure we know from heir civilization.

Gelmorra was the original underground city where the elezen previously lived before the founding of Gridania. They were forced to live underground there because the elementals refused anyone to intrude into the Black Shroud (this is also why the Ixal were driven out as well). It was only when the original developers of Conjury in association with the moogles who interceded on the Gelmorrans' behalf, were they allowed to settle on the surface, which led to the founding of Gridania, and hence Gelmorra was abandoned.

The Gridanian storyline touches on it, as do the CNJ class quests, plus there are numerous side quests in Gridania and the Black Shroud that reveal information about Gelmorra as well (it should be noted in the present day duskwight elezen are actually trying to excavate Gelmorra and re-inhabit it - there's one such excavation site in the South Shroud near Buscaron's Druthers.) The appropriately named Gelmorran Ruins in the North Shroud are perhaps the most well-known relic of Gelmorra (especially as it was about the only reference to it in 1.0), but there are other Gelmorran structures found throughout the Black Shroud as well (such as the Tam-Tara Deepcroft, the Mun-tuy Cellars, and the Thousand Maws of Toto-Rak).

See, what I find interesting about these blatantly Gelmorran locations is that their names are Padjali, which are a post-Gelmorran existence.

My guess is what we now call the Padjali is the language that was used in Gelmorra back in the days. Considering only Padjals use it now, it's now called "Padjali".
Other possibility is, that language was some kind of "sacred" language back in the days of Gelmorra, and these horned Hyur children being chosen by the elementals, people started giving them this name.

Well, I guess that can be easily explained by the fact that out of all the Gelmorran structures still surviving in the Black Shroud, all that have been reused or re-purposed by Gridania, all have padjali names. The one structure that doesn't, which is simply called the 'Gelmorran Ruins', is completely abandoned and has been left to be reclaimed by the forest.

So to me at least, it seems that names like Tam-Tara and Toto-Rak may not have actually been the original names of those places when they were still utilized by Gelmorra - they're just modern names given to those places by Gridania when they reused them (like when Toto-Rak was turned into a gaol, and when Gridania started interning deceased Seedseers within Tam-Tara.). Whatever names that had been given to them by Gelmorra were basically forgotten - this would explain the lack of a specific name given to the Gelmorran Ruins for one thing.
