Having problems beating (or getting to) T9? Here's a tip!

See, this is the kind of thing I've wanted to see! People finding inventive ways to use classes over jobs in a viable way! Although I think the only other truly viable one would be Archer over Bard...

It's a shame that some people are so resistant to trying to do things any way but the known standard. So called "Elites" who've memorized all the standard strats and standard job cross-class skills who freak out upon seeing attempts to push the envelope and experiment a little. Letting the game fall into repetitive complacency isn't good for it!

I personally have been trying to do this with my Summoner. I'll use my Titan-egi to soak up adds, especially in lower level dungeons where say a Paladin doesn't have access to Shield Oath. Titan usually ends up getting hold of aggro and then the tanks proceed to freak out at me. 'U do know damage with Titan smn!' It's all ego, really. But for me using Titan egi just seems way more efficent than a Garuda without contagion. /shrug

I use full DPS jewellery as a tank in almost everything but 2nd coil, that bad?

I dunno, we killed T9 with a Marauder. Granted, he wasn't tanking.

No, that's just like being a Hunter with Growl on, or a Warlock with Voidwalker pet.

Tanks want to do their job, and of course they'll start freaking out once they see that one or two mobs haven't gotten any aggro on them, because y'know they COULD be on the Healer or someone else, so they try to figure out who has the aggro, then find out it's the pet.
Then they start fighting the pet for aggro, which they can't win (at least not in low level dungeons).

I also hate it when some SMN thinks he has to use Topaz Carbuncle/Titan-egi. Just don't use it. It's not worth it.

marauder is actually a viable DPS and half off tank for adds in T9, they can tank golems and ghosts and put out good numbers.

You could have asked instead of accusing me of "wanting to be a huge d-bag about it", granted that my reaction (making this thread) came after his reaction (see the screenshots).

In Haukke there are two parts with 4 mobs and a wandering maid (two in the first part), pulling them and then using blood for blood is not exactly a good idea, it probably wouldn't matter if it was a synced tank with the highest amount of def/hp sync lets them have, but this one wasn't synced and neither were the DPS.

What am I trying to prove? Nothing, as far as I know names were removed and neither of the participants are in this thread, I am just sharing a (bad) experience I had, what's the problem with that?

because you were in a low level dungeon. Not T9. So acting like what he was doing was even going to be a problem was blowing the entire thing way out of proportion. You then hammered it over and over and were very aggressive about it. You didn't improve the Haukke run. You didn't prove a point. You were just being vitriolic in a low level dungeon. YOU were the problem in this situation.

How was I being aggressive? I didn't even reply to his personal attack and never attacked him either. He was the one who brought T9 as well after the archer told them if they would plan to stay mrd to use bfb at 50.

I asked him to not take MY advice as an insult and, while I don't want to take sides about the insulting part, he DID throw the first insult to me and then the archer insulted him back.
