Do you really use the player search function on a regular basis?

I know I dont. Seems to me with party finder and duty finder, player search is pretty useless. The only people that seem to utilize this tool, unless there's something I am not aware of, seems to be the RMT. How else are they sending me tells within 30 seconds of making a brand new character, and every time I come off the duty server? I wonder, is it possible to get SE to simply remove this feature all together? Might help cut down on some of the harassment.

Pretty much that ^ no one uses player search that I know of, I have a few times when inviting people that aren't in my FC/LS or Flist. That's about it though :3

Thats what I figured, so its not out of the realm of impossibility to ask SE to just be rid of it. And no Marik, youll never be rid of me!

Or limiting it to maybe one result every minute or so, so you could still find someone but not in mass amounts.

I actually use it quite a bit, usually for "stalking" purposes so to speak. There are certain players that undercut me a lot that I know who they are so I like to keep track of whether or not they are online so I know how often I need to check my MB listings. I have also used it for finding new players I speak with on the forums about doing things. Outside of that though, I don't use it for much and most people I know probably do not use it at all.

I can count on one hand the number of times that I've used the Player Search function.

Is it again a "SE should remove feature X because I don't use it" thread?

It is good to search for specific classes in specific zones to send them tells for materia meld, asking them to craft something and fast invites for FATEs and many other things

It also would not help against RMT tells, they would just teleport throught the world with a bot that /tell to everyone they meet.
