In regards to what? Only thing offtank really does in this fight is tank a golem and Ghost. Can do that in full STR quite easily. Save big cooldowns for Ghost, golem shouldn't hit you hard enough except maybe green, but just pop Foresight maybe.
I guess what I'm looking for is minimum hp required. Because I get the green golem sometimes and if I'm not spot on with cooldowns get oneshot, especially if its been fed meteors. The ghost aren't much of a problem since once the ghost gets to 50% it stops all attacks to cast binding chain.

Our WAR has a little over 6k with Defiance off, solo, no food. Left side is i100 head/feet, i110 weapon and all other slots. Right side is all STR stuff. I would say he has more than enough. Clap oneshot by green golem should be pretty rare.
My group does PLD on green, WAR on red, DPS on blue. After first blue, DPS switch to blue if it's up and green if it isn't. In the case where WAR ends up with green, I would just pop Foresight, develop mental timing for when clap is gonna come, IB it, continue on.

hmm, I think that might be it. I'll probably have to blow heavier cooldowns since on my dps war I'm not as geared as your warrior then. Well thanks.
From experience, you dont need hp in the least bit to clear t9 as a OT WAR (or maybe my healers are just awesome). on my first clear, I had just a tiny bit over 7k hp WITH defiance, which is enough to live through the green golem on your face with properly timed IB's, and if you use CD's you can live a ghost.
iirc, my gear was myth helm, i100 chest, myth gloves, HA pants, and HA boots, all accessories were i90 myth dps, and i was also 30 STR
my group does PLD(MT) on red, WAR(OT) on green, and DPS on blue. blue gets burned down then we just kill whichever we feel like killing first.
green golem hits for 3k with skull crush, after which you will IB (or you can IB before Skull Crush if you time correctly, and it will still be up for clap), then Boulder Clap will hit for 4-5k, if you feel like its necessary, pop vengeance or foresight. *This is with no meteors fed
for Ghost, just pop everything and if push comes to shove, holmgang, but that should not happen unless your healers are slackin'.
Just wanted to let you know Tzukuma, Talked it over with my static and they think its a great idea. We're going to try it next tuesday. We've been putting me on the red golem and then I either got one shot by powered up meteors or put near death if I got the green golem. Your stragedy completely eliminates that possibility since the green golem will always switch colors to another one with how my static destroys the golems. And it will never be powered up either. And it will help out overall dps on the golems since I can turn off defiance when I get the new golem.

hmm? how are you getting one shot by red golems. All they ever do is cast the layered AoE and blue fire AoE on the ground, which doesn't aim at the tank ever. It's actually the easiest golem to tank, infact we let our whm tank it since we solo tank T9.
OH I worded that wrong, The red golem often switches to a green golem that I have to feed and it as you can expect becomes super strong with the fed meteors, hitting around 7k health or more on boulder clap forcing me to use either vengance or thrill of battle or die.
EDIT:
Tried the strategy yesterday, It absolutely worked, it makes a whole lot more sense. Boulder clap hits for around 3k-4k with inner beast and foresight, and when it switches I can turn off defiance and get some more dps in. Thanks to that we made it to heaven's fall a whole lot more than last friday where I was dying left and right.

My static is reaching phase 3 now, but maybe its just me that I'm missing something. But I don't read anything regarding to conical cleaving from Bahamut's Claw or Ghost's attacks; while I'm watching the T9 solo tank video, I also do not see the Tank re-positioning to avoid cleaves. So can someone please confirm that if any of the attacks in P3 and P4 cleaves?
For me, I do the last phases as follows. Starting from the return of Nael.
By this time the dragon is as good as dead for us and Nael is already close to P4.fast blade
savage blade
tempered will
rage of halone
fast blade
savage blade
rage of halone
fight or flight
fast blade
convalescence
savage blade
foresight
rage of halone
shield lob add
(if distant location: shield lob add again)
spirits within
circle of scorn
combo repeat till fire aoe skill
Move, follow the regular tactics and do your usual tanking. As for my cooldown rotation on the following claws:
Boss dead.Claw 1: Rampart
Claw 2: Sentinel
Claw 3: Rampart
Claw 4: Hallowed Ground
Claw 5: Rampart
Claw 6: Sentinel
Claw 1, 3 and 5 don't really hurt that much. So you might even let those CD's go there. Outside of those moments, incoming damage is low. There's little need for CD's. As there's no cleaving, there's no need to turn the boss away from group mates. Better yet, for the fire in you're going to want to have them stacked on you. Only exception is after the 2nd divebomb 1 and 2nd divebomb 3. Then you want to be standing center by yourself till Nael crashed down on you.
