Do free companies require charter signs?

Like when I make it is it like WoW? I need sigs to make it? I was reading it takes 3 and this is upsetting as I only have me and one friend right now.

Yes, you need 4 signatures total. People could leave after the initial signature if you can get a temp recruit. However know that if you only have a handful of people it will take some time before you rank up enough to get the benefits of an FC. However people are making new ones every day and someone is always on the lookout for new friends so you may find your numbers in no time at all

Instead of making a free company, you could make a linkshell. Those only require gil to purchase. Later on, you could make a free company when more of your friends join.

it only took me and my husband a little over two months to get from 1-6 (the rank needed to buy a house) so I dont think thats too hard. Keep in mind if there are two of you you can have the other member create extra characters which can sign the charter then just delete them.

Usually if you shout that you need signatures (or offer to pay people), people will use their alt characters to sign it for you especially if you tell them they don't need to stay. You could also try going to low level areas and asking people if they want to be founding members of a new FC. I just started a new FC two weeks ago with 3 other people and we reached Rank 5 within two weeks time without ever going over 10 members.

Assuming your friend or you can use alternative characters (one at a time), you can create a Free Company just the two of you:

1: One player creates the Free Company
2: The second players signs 3 times the charter with 3 different characters.
