A thought that just occured to me, implementing a mechanic from FFVII (Sadness/Fury)

So, I was going through some threads here on the forums and there was a mention of using potions/items on other party members. To which, I thought about the Misery debuff from the Gremlins in The Lost City of Amdapor. Further thinking made me remember the use of Hypers and Tranquilizers in FFVII for the Fury and Sadness buffs/debuffs. Since Misery causes increased damage taken, it would be nice to perhaps see the LB increase faster (although it should with extra healing but would be nice to have the increase not due to straining healers) and also the reverse, an increase in defense but lower the rate at which the LB is built.

While implementing something like this may be awkward to properly effect the LB, I think it's something that could add a little flare to the game. As well as increasing/decreasing defense, perhaps DPS too so the DPS actually have some sort of side effect too with the affliction.

It's just a though. No, not a riot thread or a demand but simply airing my though on this matter.

Well individual actions do influence the LB (such as critical heals, critical hits with dps, maybe parrying but I'm not sure on that one) so this idea has merit. It's certainly something that was able to be inflicted as well as self prescribed in FFVII, so we can use some alchemist potions to have the same effect. Although what it will end up being is tanks taking tranquilizers for every fight and it loses it's intended use. Perhaps a use that isn't related to LB usage.

That was something I was thinking, or with the decrease in defense, the DPS could pop Hyper and not have a thing to worry about. Although tranquilizing the tanks could cause a considerable slow down in LB.

you can remove the debuff from gremlins, with some emotes (forgot which)
also increasing damage taken, is kinda bad....in 2nd coil.
and if you increase dps, you wont even need to use lb, if it even fills up in time. and if both increase to much, it would make everything to easy, or actually complicating things by messing up phase changes; you'd end up having to stop DPS.

Oh, I know about the emote thing but the complications with phase change is where it would come in to play. But if a DPS happens to die and you aren't going to push phases in time, you could sacrifice defense for an increase in damage or the LB until they are raised or whatever.

    Thanks for the input too
