I posted this thread to the Lodestone to try and get some attention brought to it.
Yeah, the community in this game can get me down sometimes. I try to be patient and helpful where I can.

good read, and I agree with most of what they said. I'm one of the few people that enjoy taking in a new player and watching them flourish into something amazing, even if they eventually bud and "fly the coop" so to speak and start their own journeys, The few people that I helped from 1-50 that then went on to make their own companies and such, I hold hope that just maybe, the pleasantness they found with me they are spreading to more new people, It may be "just a game" but I try to always remember there are actual -human beings- behind each character, and I treat people ingame the way I would in real life, a little kindness and compassion go a long way.

I certainly feel like there is a lot more elitism and name calling in the game now then back when it re-launched in September. People seem to have forgotten what it was like learning the game from scratch and not knowing the fights when they originally started playing.
I would certainly not call our community as bad as the LoL one (oh trust me... there are a lot more bad eggs over there...) but the toxicity in the community is starting to show up more often. That being said, I don't think a thread on the forums will change everyone but if it manages to change just one person then it's done it's job! We should all strive to be nicer and friendlier to new players and patience will pay off in the long run.

One cool thing I did with two friends was queue for guildhests to do our challenge log, which is 10 times. We went tank, healer, DPS. Whoever we got, we'd tell them it was their lucky day, for they were getting 3 commendations. All 10 of them reacted happily. One was so new, he asked what commendations were. He was shocked that we were so nice to him, and I get the feeling he's gonna stick around and share that kindness.
I ran CT today as a BRD. All in all, it wasn't the best and eventually a vote dismissed was passed. That left a bitter taste in my mouth, I then went in as a SCH again later on. We were team C and I didn't want a repeat of the same thing so, I started shouting things in the party chat such as "GO GO TEAM C! SUPER TEAM!" That got the whole team talking, and, everyone in my alliance was pretty hyped. This carried on throughout the run, yes we wiped a few times, but of course "WE'VE GOT THIS!" I shouted and we all got right back into the spirit of things! By the end of the run we were all having fun and joking.
Sorry, I know this isn't a "share your good deed" thread, but, I suppose it's an example that the community isn't going to one day make itself better, like the OP said; "I'll be putting a strong effort into creating a more inviting community."
We've got to be the ones to make it change, one little cheer at a time.
GO GO XIV COMMUNITY!
Yeah I see some of the negative people still hanging around over some people that aren't playing anymore that used to be outgoing. Sadly they all left because they didn't want to repeat the grind and having to deal with end-game content revolving around coil and grinding to get gear to try and ease up coil nothing to do with the community they were pretty secluded as it was.
Surely 1 way to liven up the party.I ran CT today as a BRD. All in all, it wasn't the best and eventually a vote dismissed was passed. I try to help people often but the problem is that it's very hard to do so in the open world. What can I do really aside from toss someone in need a cure/raise out in the open world?

You main Blacksmith, right? You could always look for low level characters and hand them HQ low level equipment. Your comment seems to relate to White Mage, so try standing in a town tossing Stoneskin on random passerbys. Once the hug emote comes out, shout out "free /hugs!" everywhere and see who responds. /yell encouragements and support during FATEs. All sorts of stuff.
