2 - 44 Crit, 31 Piety
3 - 11 Crit, 31 Det, 33 Piety,
4 - 33 Crit, 21 Det, 21 Piety
Which one do you think is more optimal?

Option #1 seems your best bet.
Just your friendly neighborhood elezen
Piety is mostly moot for Scholars, no? I'd agree, 1 seems most optimal.
There is a discussion on reddit on this subject. Crit at 44 is a given, some saying that Det really only gives you 4-5 points extra per heal, and others saying that Piety ensures you never run out of mana...but if we manage aetherflow properly we don't anyway. I'm not sure which way to go, so am just doing my Crit to 44 first and waiting for feedback from number crunchers on what to do with the rest.
Option 1. I play as a SCH and I've never gone below 30% MP, let alone run out of it completely. Most parties have a bard or two in them as well so having the extra bit of MP you get from piety just seems like a waste for a SCH.
There's also a thread for this on the healer forums.![]()
This, the only time I get at low MP is when I'm solo healing primals and people keep dying on every attack so you have to spam raises. But even still doable, MP management is really easy on SCH, so go for crit/det all the way!
Ill throw a spin on this. Pie has more stat weight for scholars since it directly effects Aetherflow and this weapon is not for current progression but will see another upgrade in the future(prob2.4). Pie makes more sense in that regard as it insures that when you attempt the 3rd coil you will have the mana for those raises that are guaranteed to be needed. You never know down the line when all of a sudden our infinite mana for a fight doesn't end up to be so infinite(attacks like King Mogs cleave that sucks mana will probably show up more often down the road).

Indeed, when you start progressing through longer and harder fights, piety becomes more important. I want to see some of these people saying piety isn't needed heal through T8 with no ballad. Having some extra det won't make that fight easier to heal, more piety will.Ill throw a spin on this. Aetherflow itself every 60 seconds isn't always enough if you don't have a high MP amount for high base regen. Energy Drain thrown in helps, but sometimes you can't always use it. And that's something i've noticed with both healers, you hit a certain point where more healing doesn't really help you much. A bit more det doesn't help you because you're still using the same amount of casts, but more piety would.

Why not Crit + spell speed?
edit: Nvm spellspeed sucks.
