Can we please get voice chat?

You do get some more ______ online, but it's a risk in any public setting. I've played games with built in voice chat for 3 or 4 years now. This game feels half a decade behind the times to me with how it doesn't have it built in.

So we should all just bend over and take any and all harassment because it's 2014. Heaven forbid that there's laws in many countries, mine included, against verbal abuse and that it's been proven ad nauseaum that verbal abuse can and does have detrimental effects on others. Especially when directed against young children who haven't had the benefit of the mental hardening of adulthood (that is, as we get older words 'should' have less and less of an impact on our psyche because we 'know better'). Afraid I can't agree with you at all.

Your experience with voice chat in raids, PF parties and so on is good because it's a more controlled environment, where people actually act decently (most of the time at least), but we all know what happens when you add the DF anonymity to the mix. Just no.

You do realize with voice chat there is always a mute option on both sides (outgoing/incoming).

This is why we can't have nice things.

Get a ps4 and play with only people who have a ps4. Or use one of the many other voice chat options like oovoo, etc....

Games rarely allow you to have people muted by default, usually you have to mute them one by one. It's very annoying.

I do play games with built-in voice and I use push-to-talk exclusively. I'm in a minority on that, and a tiny one. Yes, you can mute the people that make the internet great but at the same time they can also vote kick you for muting them, or they could be playing a role where you need to know what they're doing. Further, if there were voice people would be more apt to ignore chat, especially people nowadays. Having voice would only add problems and solve nothing.

You clearly don't know how trashy people get over voice coms when they're protected by anonymity. Text chat people behave better for some reason but over voice com I've ran into some really trashy people who harassed me and said vulgar things to me just for being a girl.

I have never ever encountered any trash talk towards females in any game using voice comms or something like TS, and I've been mmorpging since UO.

By the way PS3/4 people can use the app on a smartphone for TS. (somebody else's post about PS3/4 people not being able to use voice comms)

Is the TS app ios and android do you know? This is the first I've heard of that.
