    MNK - Hundred Fists, haste, and other abilities

    Has anyone seen any info on if MNK will get hundred fists. It was used on me during one of my quests and I got excited. I didnt see anything about anywhere though. Then it got me thinking about how npc's will use haste and en-spells. Maybe the next healer will be like RDM and be able to buff us. Are there more abilities that npcs have that we don't?

    Thoughts?

    Here's some abilities that seem like we'd be able to use them:

    Fire/Blizzard/Thunder IV: Voidsent enemies have already used Void versions of these abilities.
    Haste: Buffy buffy.
    Slow Spell: Instead of skills that happen to cause Slow and Shadow Flare, the actual "Slow" spell.
    Inspirit: Increase Skill/Spell speed of self. Seems like a useful thing to cross-class from something else later on.
    Darkness: We can use Holy. Where's the opposite?
    Hundred Fists: Monks had it in 1.0. It ought to return... eventually?
    That ability enemy lancers use to AOE in the four Cardinal directions: Yes please?
    Shell: Scholars just have Protect while White Mages have Proshell. Perhaps another healer will just have Shell and both it and Scholar can carry Protect and Shell at once?

    Here's some abilities that I don't think we'll get:

    The En- spells: There's no actual elemental wheel in the game in relation to enemies, right? Applying an element to our weapons does nothing.

    cause adding an additional bit of dmg to your auto attack wouldn't be useful or anything <.<

    En- spells used by mobs add a separate smaller number that follows an attack similar to how they worked in FF11 (if you played it). The elemental part means nothing for this game however, still a spell/skill that acted similar would be close to the same thing. (or at least how I've noticed it)

    Honestly Darkness wouldn't make any sense whatsoever on a WHM. I can see a BLM having that move. It would probably be a weak aoe that inflicts blind for 30 seconds. Kinda like a paladin's flash.

    I REALLY hope RDM isn't given a healer role here >.<. Haste should go back to Time Mage and En-Spells back to Mystic Knight should they appear as well...

    I believe Banish, Scourge, Dia and Water are still used by some enemies. Not sure if any use Flood, Quake and Tornado still from the old days.

    Yoshi has once expressed hatred for the Haste spell. He doesn't like how it instantly becomes an absolutely needed buff a la FFXI. He could always change his mind but just wanted to inform. As far as Slow goes, I don't really see the point honestly. Between PGL/LNC/THM/ACN we have 4 different applications of it as it is. If Time Mage were to come in I would expect it to stem off of THM as it is due to their related abilities (Lethargy (slow and heavy), Swiftcast, Aetherial Manipulaiton) which would give them Slow anyway .

    Shell I could see and not necessarily coming from a healer either. It would require either re-evaluating sub classes for our current jobs or bumping them up from 2 to 3. Either SCH would need to have the new class+CNJ or the new class+CNJ+THM. I don't really see anyone wanting to lose Swiftcast and I'm sure it'd cause a lot of flack but otherwise THM doesn't really offer much anyway...

    It's quite different in the hands of the enemy. We still have individual elemental resistances so they can benefit from the various elements but we don't get the same benefit. I could see en-spells working via some sort of a mechanic on Mystic Knight but not as a straight up copy of the enemies version.     They just meant that we have a big Astral attack so we should have a big Umbral attack as well. Darkness is an iconic Dark Knight ability.

    The Pugilist Guildmaster will also pull it out for you during one of the sparring matches against him in the class quests.

    We're not saying "Give us these abilities right now!"

    We're thinking about things new classes would bring to the table as well as possibilities for abilities which will be introduced with a level cap increase.
