Am I The Only One Having Trouble With Atma Drops?

It took me 14 hours of FATE grinds to get only 3 atmas. This is pretty ridiculous they need to increase the drop rates. Now lets say I actually did all these hours of grinding and found all 12 atmas, I get an atma weapon with the same exact stats as my Zenith and I also lose my Zenith sparkles!

Yep, no stat difference, not one. Here's what I feel is a mistake; that's a lot of work to get nothing. I would be happy with a super small difference knowing I'm about to go on quest to upgrade stats - how about 1 weapon damage. Make it something better SE - we've put in work, give us a small reward.

Ok, gotta get books. 1500 myth per book.

1500 per book, 9 books total = 135000 Myth.
13500/50 (total myth per dungeon) = 270 runs
7 minutes per 50 myth run(fastest way we know of currently) x 270 runs = 1890 minutes or nearly 32 HOURS. So to fully upgrade your atma you are looking at roughly 46 hours and that's before counting all the crap you need to do to finish each book.

It's something that takes a while. The book grind in particular. Expect to working on it for a month or two. Novus is the same way.

After seeing so many threads saying the same thing few months ago, that has basically become my response. Yoshi said that as patches progress earlier parts will get easier but thats quite a bit of time. You could have one in the months you take to wait for that(if you so choose to wait). Tome weap, High allagan weap are other routes.

RNG is RNG. 1st atma weap took me about week and a few days, 2nd weap took me less than 2 days. As for myth, get ya popcorn ready you about to endure some bray bray :P. Or you could just do roulette and get a book every few days. Myth has been increased from it and will be increased again in 2.3.

And then....and then....jump for joy cause ya gotta do the novus part and get even more myth lol. I'm doing it for fun on my blm. No rushing, just doing it when I feel like it. Being able to roll on High Allagan staff when it drops though and already having 110 weap on mnk may be playing a part in why im taking it slow xD

It's pure RNG and some will get good luck, some will get bad luck. My atmas weren't too bad, apart from Western Thanalan, but the Alexandrite, eugh. Done 350-400 fates and not seen one.

I'm not measuring my arms progress in time, but in total Fates. I got five atmas I'm 1150 Fates. 0.35% drop rate can go fuck itself!

The drop rate is 2.5%. Your luck is just really bad.

Ya I know it is, hence why I hate the quest itself. I'm seeing many less skilled, or more casual players than myself get their atma weapon everyday. This really grinds my gears!

well getting the atma weapon means nothing till you've upgraded it to animus.

I see atma wielders all the time but hardly see animus.

I was stuck farming my last Atma on North Shroud for a week after farming 11 at about a day's pace. May the RNG gods be with you.
