does anyone feel that the mysterious map is all a con and misleading players?!

I completed my Atma weapon and finally grinded all the myth to get the ink

then completed the following quest and started the map quest

checked it, see that it can be soloed...

    and it was a morbol.

and i died because it binded me and bad breathed me, even with my chocobo out, I could not solo it.

It's really misleading to players and waste huge chunk of their hours to gain a map especially since 3,000 myth are needed while you can farm the alexandrite

Adjust the maps so people don't feel disheartened like i do at the moment to lose a map after all the frigging hard work i have put into this frigging quest, really makes me mad!

Yes, it seems a little unfair that releasing your corpse, even if it's to the same area the map was in, makes you lose the map forever.

    However, as for that Morbol...

The threat is naturally that Bind keeps you from dodging the Bad Breath. You have options.

    1. Use a potion to increase Bind Resistance. I'm not sure whether this shortens the duration of a Bind or simply makes you less likely to be bound, but it ought to help.

Most classes have a way to deal with the issue, too.

White Mage/Scholar: You can still take actions while bound, so you can Esuna/Leech it off of yourself.

Monk/Dragoon/Warrior/Paladin: You should be in melee range when you get bound. Stun the Morbol to prevent Bad Breath from going out. If it's flat out immune to Stun... uh oh. Paladins can use Tempered Will to remove Bind.

Summoner: Have Titan tank the Morbol.

Bard: Keep your distance. Be careful not to leash it.

All: Chocobo tank. You might need to give it a bit to establish some semblance of aggro, but it could help.

Unless the Morbol cannot be stunned, I don't see any artificial difficulty here. I see a challenge that requires you to use the tools at your disposal to overcome.

Now... those instakill bombs? That might be a different story...

I have to disagree about map difficulty adjustment, unless they forbid you to form party in order to complete then yes.

The thing that misleading is the illusion that you can solo it easily since its written as recommended lv 50 which imply you are "ok" doing it solo. Well yes it soloable much, but shit happens anytime (like unwanted lag/spikes) which make it better to go with a party of 2 or 3.

And yes that morbol killed me the first time i encountered it, i should've summoned titan or set my ifrit to obey, so lesson learned go with a party.

I do all my mysterious maps duo.

That being said, all of them are soloable. The issue is mostly that 'what the hell is this' factor. The Morbol binding, the 20 second petrifications, and the Glorious Bombast are all easily overcome, if you know whats coming.

I suggest you just get a buddy to do them with you until you've seen all the maps. There really are not that many. And they are not that bad.

Except for that Bombast. He's totally OP.

I think players have just gotten so accustomed to overgearing all non-raid content that the first actual i100 open world content is throwing them out of their comfort zones.

Go in prepared for a fight designed to challenge i50 characters and you will get curbstomped.
Go in prepared for a fight designed to challenge i100 characters and you will get that fight.

If you go into new content and stupidly use your stuns on cooldown instead of saving them for potentially interruptible attacks, you deserve to be hit by those attacks.

I've soloed 2 maps so far. Both were close calls not worth the risk. That being said having all jobs at lvl 50. I think whm or sch are your best bet for soloing. The mix of dots and hots at your disposal combined with cleric stance and insta heals are a safe bet. However. There's safty in numbers start a pf group for those maps or ask a guildy. They only get gil for helping so ask nicely

What's the deal with that one? Had it yesterday as Tank and saw it grows, grows and then is small again and it starts growing again. I stunned it on its way to get bigger but didn't notice any more dmg or something. Does this thingie explodes if it is not stunned or what is it about?

I think it explodes when it gets bigger, causing around 2k-3k damage (on my Warrior).
    Then it gets smaller again.
After a while, same thing happens again and again.

I have had no issues soloing (with my chocobo) all the maps using Warrior. I've done like 12 by now.

I can definitely see some DPS (or maybe even healers who are not buffed) having issues due to not-so-high HP and Paladin having issues due to its low damage meaning not enough time to complete the map.

    Hey Guys,

here are 2 Tips which should make those fights easier:

Morbol: Grab a Mob in your area, every auto attack breaks the stun of the morbol, so u can dodge the poison smell (And the Mobs arent dealing much damage though)
Bomber: It doesnt explode. But it will reflect the damage u have dealt, while it was big. So do a damage Stop while its grown, then there will be no damage dealt when it gets smaller again.

    Hope this helps ;-)

Kill them before they blow up, you have like 15 or 20 seconds after they spawn, and they do about 1500 damage each, so if your damage is so low that you can't kill them all, you should be able to at least get a couple down and still survive the blast.
