I just finished the r45 dungeon as Conjurer 50. Yes it's harder to heal now but it was enjoyable, I had to watch my MP, use Cure II instead of III most of the time, siphon MP, go to passive mode to regen some MP.
It was fun, it was a challenge. ^_^

I think it might be a bit early to enter the doom cycle on magic classes. The classes are going to be restructured soon so just take this as a part of a bigger process.
If you don't enjoy the way THM or CON play right now, try something else.
Personally, I enjoy the new THM. Before the patch, I didn't use 80% of my abilities (Syphon MP?), but now I'm finding that MP is a resource that you don't take for granted anymore. Managing your MP restoration and output adds a new level of strategy to what used to be mind-numbingly easy class to play.

These changes aren't so bad, they are just trying to define roles. If you don't want to heal then advertise yourself as a blackmage and say you'll only nuke or start a party with two conjurers and have one heal and you nuke.
Maybe THM should be main tank healer because mostly everyone else should not be getting hit if they position themselves right. So maybe conjurer is supposed to be the nuker and if for some reason your group messes up a little you throw in a curaga here and there? I haven't played yet so I don't know but that seems very plausible!

I can honestly say that I feel things have shifted in favoritism towards Conjurer over Thaumaturge now, rather than being balanced. Although, Thaumaturge can deal good damage, I feel they are a bit misplaced like pugilist and marauder when it comes to making parties. People would seek out conjurer, gladiator, archer, lancer, etc...but the other three are almost like filler. =( I'm okay with them nerfing some of the mage things, but I do think the MP costs are a little too high.
hmmm,id voice an opinion but my dl has been going for 12 hours><.
i didnt have many healing problems before the update, but did have a hell of a time on nukes not nuking.so much so that people are actually almost convinceing me to get wow.
im hoping that the update has allieviated my problems with mage, seeing this hasnt made me feel better about playing it.
o ya as for the bitching about downtime for mp,um the mages have a trait that will recoup alot of that mp.did you take that into account? was sorta used to it,1 flood 1 nuke then wait, been like that along time.this is nothimng new is it?

Its still not done. Battle has more changes to go through before its even complete. If you are tired of waiting, take a break and come back later. Its tiring to hear people complain about how the cake looks when its still a batter.

Mages get the nerf they deserve, then strike. Yea I will totally strike also, I don't like the fact that the mages have to be on par with the other players now, mages should be able to solo bosses like they use to.

This OP is ridiculous..
Mage roles havent changed CON was ALWAYS the Main healer and The Main Nuker. THMs who thought otherwise were kidding themselves. I'm sorry if you thought spam curring was fun, but i thought it was kind of obnoxious both to do and to have done to me. As far as Auto attack is concerned unless you equip the princess' weapon from FFIX you get no range AA, deal with it.
Does the OP ever stop complaining? Perhaps he just needs to find a different game.

I'm a 50 CON and a 50 THM.
I am cool with these changes. I would like some more changes to be done (perhaps buff ancient magic a bit more), but I'm cool with it.
