Weird worship aside, the only person that thought I was condescending was Neptune himself.

The thing is I like the idea of casting offensive elemental magic.

Thanks for explaining that, I have a much better understanding of where you're coming from. You want a nuker in a similar style of a Black Mage, but that's not possible due to CON having all the elemental spells and you feel they won't be used to their advantage due to the changes that make it a much more effective White Mage, right?

No, the comparison is perfect because a Conjurer didn't choose to be a WHM.

You don't have to be a conjurer all your life. You can just change classes or find another game. Sex and Race are real life pieces of a persons identity and shouldn't be trivialized by comparing them to a piece of comparatively shallow entertainment that doesn't even need to be played.

Who knows, maybe the Black Mage job will have what nukes want. That will be something to keep an eye on.

Don't be so condescending. This isn't the title screen of the game. I am rightfully upset that they swapped my character from BLM to WHM.

Also, now we are finding that by making Conjurer WHM and taking cures away from THM, guess who is getting into Darkhold.. GLA, CON, ARC. Every other class is getting left out because no one wants to deal with aoe cure cost. So before you think this thread is just about mages, consider the facts. It's affected every class but GLA and ARC.

I just got to the dungeon boss and guess our setup

(and that THM is also an ARC, btw).

And someone said afterward "Man it's great to be ARC & CON right now" and I said "This is a terrible way to design a game. You'd think they'd know it from XI, particularly the way COP worked and very specific setups had a much, much, much easier time clearing difficult fights.

Are out of the box setups going to be built and work? Yes they are, but good luck finding a CON & ARC to join them. They'll be too busy winning to join your crappy experimental party.

lol I am outta luck till 1.19.

I am not a healer, never plan to be one. It's too boring to me. The MP cost to cures doesn't bother me, I don't use them too much. I didn't pick Conjurer to be a healer, I did it for the damage it could dish out. Sure the damage is crap right now, unless you regimen it.

I am saying this to save lives. I will fall asleep healing.

So I am going to have to wait till patch 1.19 to do real damage.

Wow, can I just say that ALL mages have to pay attention now? And I love how if a mage gets in the face of the mob, they get raped. People are slowly starting to understand their roles in combat.

Oh and I wouldn't recommend healing and nuking. You get way too much hate now. You have to pay attention. Yay for dedicated healers

Negative, I for one chose to be an offensive spell caster. I didn't ask to be the class with the only aoe cures. If they feel the need to pigeon hole people at least give the existing players a way out of it. In WoW when they jack up your character build they reset your talent points as a courtesy, letting you remake yourself as you see fit. I'm asking for the same customer service from this dev team. If they can't get that right they are never going to get very far.

There are ways out of it.
I have actually proposed 3 of them in my previous post:
- Play as another class
- Wait for a proper attacking mage class to be implemented
- Quit game

It was SO MUCH OBVIOUS that CONs where the White Mages of this game that I can't even understand where ppl got the idea that they will be anything other than healers.
IMO whoever chose a CON chose a healer and that's the end of it.
