the game is still easy but you can die easier and you just dont have unlimited mana and that destroyed some noobs world lol.

The changes are incomplete for lower level players.
They removed "easy mode," which may or may not be good, depending on individual taste. However, they did not make finding parties any easier. So if you are not in a populated hub, you have less to do than before, now that behests can only be done once an hour again and offer average rewards for the opportunity cost of doing them.
So while the removal of fatigue and surplus was a huge plus for me, because I only wanted to level a couple of classes, I can't really take advantage of it without something like a static party to catch up.
And from what I've seen thus far, even during prime time, there are less people at lower level camps than before 1.18.
Linkshell-less and sad panda.
I don't see how arc nerf was so bad. You can still do burst damage pretty good.
ya im still fine with my arc seemed the same to me. my mages though oh boy gotta focus on curing now or else wipeage

Yeah mages got beaten pretty bad.
I am new back to the game. only played a few days at release so I am essentially completely new. Started a new character on a new server since I only had a few levels and dont know anyone in game yet. News of the changes coming in 1.18 brought me back 3 days ago, but 2 hours of the actual patch and I am done. I can no longer do a rank 10 leve quests on solo difficulty by myself without dying... as a healer!! I run out of mana before I can get a grouping of 3 mobs down let alone the 9 I will need to complete the leve. And no more mana restored at the Aetheryte so I just have to wait it out after dying. I am sure it is because I suck and should gtfo and l2pNoob. But then most people just starting the game suck. I like playing healers. Oh well. Maybe it is just my own skewed impression but the leves don't seem designed for solo play any more. There doesn't seem to be anything for solo play now and since I still havent found a LS I am pretty much screwed. I like games that encourage grouping but games that make grouping mandatory lost their appeal with EQ pre-kunark 12 years ago. Guess I will wait to see how 1.19 turns out.

Apparently only melee players like the mage adjustments. They seem to have something AGAINST mages, like we're supposed to be their peons that just serve them and make THEIR fun possible, without having any fun ourselves. I like the Grand Companies, but I am seriously hating EVERYTHING else they've done with this patch. I need to get a melee class to cap asap because CON/THM are freaking GARBAGE now.
I'm not a mage and I still don't get why they removed AoE from cure spells AND increased MP cost to same spells. Should have just picked one ><.
I'm really surprised people are hating on 1.18... I actually have the desire to log in again!! long live xiv!
My first post, hi everyone. Big fan of Final Fantasy here. Call me whatever you want to. I basically quit playing after reaching 45. For many reasons this patch has renewed my interest (unfortunately i just got married{jk honey}) in the game and was up all night playing.
Anyways I just wanted to say that I got my Seer's Cowl today! Hurray for me! What I really wanted to say though is that I soloed it as a 45 CON just like all the times it didn't drop. Granted I did die, come back and continue the fight it wasn't like it was impossible (perhaps in the future maybe...who knows). I also didnt keep a close eye on my MP regaining abilities. I had recently returned from break so sleeping and disengage to regain mp didnt even occur to me.
The point is, while it might be a little harder you can still solo...well at least the Prince of Pestilence as a 45 CON you can![]()
If at first you don't succeed...just patch the hell out of it
