    I agree, the changes make me feel like I have a role and almost a job in the parties now. I not only like the changes, but I love them, the MP increase, as well as potency (damage/output) increase makes perfect since.

    I also play THM and find that I am able to still auto attack and solo mobs pretty effectively.

    For the first time in parties, and in game things seem to be moving forward. More adjustments are on their way, but this was not only a needed adjustment it was critical. I think SE nailed it, and I for one can't wait to see what else they have in store for us down the line. I just hope it doesn't take as long as 1.18 took, so here is hoping for 1.19 in August.

    Ok, so XIV now finally have a mage class strictly for healing (White mage). They need to take away CON's nuke abilities and get rid of those masochistic ancient spells (it's just painful to cast them). Make it purely a WHITE MAGE job.

    We still need a Black Mage job with capable spells!

    I play Con and Thm main -- I like the change, you'll be lying if you don't agree that it was pretty tactless and "automated" to play these jobs prior to this change. Now you have to actually manage your hate and MP and actually strategize with another mage in some situations.

    It actually feels like a game. So no they're not garbage, they're just not mindless to play now.

    My first post, hi everyone. Big fan of Final Fantasy here. Call me whatever you want to. I basically quit playing after reaching 45. For many reasons this patch has renewed my interest (unfortunately i just got married{jk honey}) in the game and was up all night playing.

    Anyways I just wanted to say that I got my Seer's Cowl today! Hurray for me! What I really wanted to say though is that I soloed it as a 45 CON just like all the times it didn't drop. Granted I did die, come back and continue the fight it wasn't like it was impossible (perhaps in the future maybe...who knows). I also didnt keep a close eye on my MP regaining abilities. I had recently returned from break so sleeping and disengage to regain mp didnt even occur to me.

    The point is, while it might be a little harder you can still solo...well at least the Prince of Pestilence as a 45 CON you can

    I'm not coming to this thread to say anything bad about 1.18. In fact i believe it is a huge step forward for ffxiv. I did come to this thread to give my opinion and that is the title of this thread is completely ignorant. Players have the right to debate here and you can tell them to gtfo all day long but they aren't going to. I'm sick of reading all this name calling here. Plenty of people are bringing up valid arguments and points. Stop trying to combat them by calling them complainers.

    Arguments aren't valid just because you say they are. There's a lot of difference between debating and the petulant whining certain undesirables have enacted since the patch.

    Let me pose you a question. If SE says they are going to fix something, is it worth complaining about? Or should complaints be made about issues that SE has yet to acknowledge? A majority of complaints are about issues that SE has very plainly communicated would be resolved. I would call that whining or being impatient. The fact is, there is a portion of the community who feels completely entitled that SE must always fix issues their way all the time. Those people just continually whine and complain to no end despite what SE says or does. Its quite annoying. For some reason the same people continually state that they hate the game, rage quit, etc , yet they still stick around to fill the forum with their worthless blather.

    Overall, I really like the new update and I'm very excited to be playing this game again.

    Auto attack is the best improvement by far. Because of it I actually enjoy battles. I find myself using more abilities and strategy since I'm not constantly racing back and forth between my basic attack and my other abilities. It just feels like I'm not longer fighting against the interface to play.
    Quests giving SP now is great. There's finally a reason to take these quests and explore the world and lore surrounding them. I find them rather addicting!
    The public dungeons (or at least the one I've done) are a lot of fun and present a nice sense of purpose and comradeship for groups!

    The only changes I'm not too sure about are the huge MP cost for spells and reduced SP rewards. I don't like that CON is being shoehorned into healing. What is the point of having a class with both recovery and attack magic if they're going to be forced into one or the other. Overall, I don't think it's as bad as players are saying, but it does need a little tweaking.

    FFXIV is finally starting to look like the game I thought it was going to be when I bought it. With chocobos and airships coming next, all I need is Mog houses and I'll be set!

    Gondai: We’ll continue to break up what we’re working on over a number of patches, first 1.18 and then 1.19, and so on. It’d be impossible to release everything all at once. But I hope people won’t judge us too harshly on that, saying stuff like “Is this all there is to patch 1.18?!” It might not be for us to say, but I think things are going smoother than we expected, so please wait just a bit longer.
    There it is, from Mr Gondai himself. He's going to be so disappointed with you guys, so very, very disappointed.
