If that were true they would have just delayed the launch of 1.0 and made changes then, since people were demanding it be revised the first place. That did not happen. So, they remade the game because people stopped playing due to the changes they wanted not being implemented. In this case, change came because people spoke with their wallets, not because SE listed to the customer before the mass exodus took place.

I have no problem with people requesting changes, how they "request" can be a different story though. But either way lets not pretend that 1.0 was remade because people demanded it before it failed as you suggest, since that did not (even remotely) occur.

Why would they delay a game they do not think is bad until they get feedback? You sound weird. Did you even play 1.0? Look at my join date. I was there doing the alpha test when Tanaka was the directer. I'm talking about the first version of FFXIV being revised because players requested it to be completely changed. What are you talking about?

You don't have any right to demand content. You have the priviledge to play the game THEY made, you accepted to play the content they created (and will keep creating) when you bought your account. The game doesn't revolve around you, stop demanding content YOU wish for it, just suggest it.

The riot thread for the Muskateer is not the same as the riot thread for the Fantasia.

When the riot thread for the Fantasia was created, at the time SE had no plans to implement it as
an optional service. Therefore, you have something to "demand" or "want". With the Muskateer
riot thread, it is already confirmed a gun class is coming, it's just not ready yet. What
exactly is the demand here? That SE release a half-finished gunner class? Am I missing something
here?

There has to be a reason for said riot, there is not one for Muskateer or whatever the gun class
may be. SE will release it when it's ready, plain and simple. Demanding something that is already
on it's way is useless and a waste of space.

Now people are under the impression that "Hey, if we xxx or riot we can get whatever we want"
and this forum is going to turn into nothing but those threads, which will eventually drown out
threads that could potentially be informative and constructive.

Unfortunately that is not true. Yoshi has been talking about implementing the fantasia in the mog station for some time. They just didn't give out any information, so the riot thread started.

So...there is no difference. You are not specially justified by your actions.
