Serious Question: Does SE sell Gil now?

a lot ofpeople seem to have problems getting over a million though, even without buying everything they think is shiny

Well that depends on how you look at it. I have 600k stashed away and maybe 60k on me but I am also not burning my seals on things like coke to sell on the market or make into darksteel ingots which fly off my retainer on balmung. I have maybe 1000 gil of my own profit on me all the rest is on my retainers from ventures and attempts made prior (market board investments not ventures as in retainer ventures). I do not actively seek to make gil because there is nothing I want it could give me, I'm leveling my off crafts to get a good rotation for my master tool and I am making the mats for leves as I go so even though I could easily get over a million I don't need to. Now I might to purchase a few company rooms for newer free company members but the difficulty is on how people specifically play more so then actual ability. Most like me find it very boring to just chase gil, even though things like mining and craft I enjoy and can use to make gil. It is harder (much easier now) for those that only dungeon dive though to compete in the actual numbers game from 0 - 1mil some will always make it sound easier then it is because of their mentality torwards the game. Just like 1500 myth in 1 day for me is exhausting but if I was willing to stand my ground and 6min grind thats 3 hours.

there is hardly a difference between running wp then as there is running bf now. i also highly doubt you are being kicked so often if you are playing said healer unless you just aren't doing well with your role

The "rich" people you claim the last patches have favored worked for that gil. I have no sympathy for those who take no part in the economy then whine when they don't have the finances to do what they want to in the game.

i've easily got a few mil worth of materia on my retainer from about 20 minutes of gathering, 10 minutes of crafting, and a couple hours grinding with +1 to spirit bond gear on. oh, i forgot that this takes effort. my bad

See I tried that, I made all i55 weapons and trinkets, using as cheap of mats as possible, crafting up from base materials where it was too expensive to buy them outright. After materia for spiritbonding and mats I found myself spending a couple hours getting all the materials and crafting it all. It all cost me 40,946 gil, and after converting it all down and selling it I came out with 62,754 gil or a 21,808 gil profit.

For all the time spent into crafting, melding, and spiritbonding it really doesn't seem as profitable as people make it out to be "Just walk around and make 30k" or even worse "a few hours to get millions".

Is it easier for people who have already invested time and effort to make gil to obtain certain items or get to use some new functions faster? Yes. Is it ok? Yes. Otherwise gil loses it's purpose and you just wait until everything is handed to you without any effor at all.

Also, I'm already getting sick of those "it will be the 3rd patch in a row now that favors rich people" threads. This is a video game, not a real life. Everyone has absolute same starting position here. This is not a P4W game. So stop it, please.

On top of that, SE can't purposely limit content and ideas due to RMT. RMT will always be there and people who use real money to get advantages will be in better position. Deal with it.

Edit: It's very easy to make gil at this point too. If you took the time you use to complain on forums and spend it in-game making gil, your issues would have been very likely solved by now.

Well Kuroyuki no offense and no insult but you might need to hurry with your myth in general because come bounty system the hero gear is dropping to a different currency type, or from the bounty period so if gear is your concern you won't have time to be worried about gil unless your just going to get i90 crafted. But don't worry it all will work out your just in the awkward phase transition because your in the gap between new systems, similar to how people could not get castrum finished because SR AK was the thing so not enough people to do Castrum. It is actually less of a grind to get darklight now then it was when they were purchased barring for people who need it to turn in for seals with out concern for others but going to be honest your the first person I have seen ousted out of duty finder for not wanting to do a speed run most just cry and moan.

Well, my WHM will complete his Mytho gear today and my BLM is almost done with Soldiery, and I have lots of spare i70s and CT/T1/T2 stuff for other classes so I'm fine.



It just feels like SE is making this game much more money relevant, and that scares me. It will just increase the number of spammers. It also makes me mad that I can't do stuff like gardening and breeding just because my FC does not have millions for a house. I'm fine with my money but I think money will become much more another grind. I'm afraid that with 2.5 everyone will need billions to to anything past 50, bots will roam the lands and people who don't tag along the money game won't be picked into groups anymore.

SE also bring new tools in the game to make it easier to earn gil, like the challenge log. It should only scare you if you are lazy.
