    Currently Just Too Dangerous To Draw ANY Conclusions?

    I admit that the loss of morale in Frontlines has made me sick to my stomach in view of the overwhelming time waste (would've just done coils and relic-based stuff since that gear'll hold the edge now) but I'm still wondering what the true nature of FL really is... I can't remember where I've red it, but think I recall seeing that new arenas were going to be released (aside from FL) And while my gut feeling is telling me no ones gonna really wanna bother with em when stacked against the frenzy FL should provide, I'd imagine morale would still work there.

    In the end, SE's #1 interest, understandably enough is to make money. (Crono Trigger is dead) To that end...they're gonna cater to w/e brings in the most (though I believe in trying to attract more people who didn't care about pvp to begin with, they're playing rush and roulette with the small base they already had too) But until we know what elements are released in addition to FLs, is it to early to make any conclusions??

    yeah it kinda is too early to make assumptions, better to wait when fl actually comes out and make our judgement then.

    as tandy said in another thread, while you and i may believe that FL wont attract pve players to pvp , there may exist players who just didnt care for arena style pvp and want the objective kind. only time will tell.

    Mmmm, just gotta wait and see. I REALLY want new arena maps/a Ladder ranking system. Incentive for the hardcore PvPers to play in "Ranked" queues while at the same time newcomers can use frontlines to gear up in preparation for ladder/vanity/WD AND hardcore pvpers can play for fun. Everyone wins, haha

    It would be a huge disappointment if Morale had no effect. It would basically make PvE gear dominant in a PvP environment, while making PvP gear useless outside of the Wolves' Den.

    Frontlines will definitely attract and maintain way more numbers and sorts players than any style of quick, punishing 4v4 arena death match ever could, it happens in every game.

    ilv is being synced up to 80 and synced down to 80. Morale also has no weight on the battle. So if anything frontline will actually be somewhat more of a tactical battleground as opposed to the Wolves Den, where with morale, you can just simply overpower someone who's lacking in morale. So I see no problem with morale having no impact, because its an even-keel battlefield where no one truly has the advantage until the battle begins and you realize you're stuck with a bunch of Leeroy Jenkins. If anything, the only varying stats will be what people are wearing for BiS, and even then, the difference is minimal in the short run.

    Any particular reason they can't just equalize everyones Morale as well, and not make it feel like earning the Morale gear was a total waste of time?

    Equalizing everyone's morale is no different from no morale.
    And that second one about the skill, that might make a difference, but I wouldn't expect it to make too big of a difference. That's assuming Yoshi-P and his devs also doesn't reset those to skill lv 1 for everybody.

    Well, if he doesn't, the difference could effectively be;

    I have Rank-not1, so I spend AP on reducing cooldowns for long Frontlines matches.
    You have Rank1, so have no AP to reduce cooldowns with.

    I use my skills every 3 minutes instead of 5. I'd assume that's a very clear advantage, if Frontlines goes on for longer than 3 minutes one person effectively gets to use their PvP skills twice instead of once. To me that seems fairly unbalanced. If the match goes on long enough for both of us to use the skills, but not long enough for me to get a third in... Well, I got to use it 2 minutes in advance of you. With that difference you could be dead by the time your cooldown comes along....

    Also, on Morale. Equalizing Morale means I can wear Morale gear without feeling like its a complete waste, I imagine that's a fairly big difference for some people.
