Exactly!
My fc have 2 members, we got a house (that I paid for myself) so yeah, anyone can get a house. If you're not willing to spend time getting one then don't complain that you are locked out from content.

My FC has 6 people and we own a small house. We are not run sellers or avid crafters, I actually paid for the whole house myself so i dont know why would anyone think that you need a big FC to own a house.
Unless "house" means "mansion" to you then yes, enjoy making 50m gil.
I started this game with 3 Friends, and we did create a FC when we were fresh 50.
as soon as we did hit lvl 6 we were able to buy a small house. (Only 3 of us did pay for the house.)
i dont consider this as forcing people to create big FCs.
Also for OP.. i dont get why some people refuse hard to join guilds in any game like this.
This is obviously not SE's fault.
you can buy a house for only 2m, what are you crying about? thats like nothing and really EVERYONE can afford that
Disagree... looking forward to meld my Novus, i won´t be able to afford that ^^ same to all FC members, which where i am one of the ppl with more money...
we even have one who is so broke he regularly has no gil for teleport xD
While having stables at your FC house seems reasonable, it locks out many people from a very ... not significant, but wantable ... feature.
Unfortunately, adjustments in patches always seem to plan in one direction - forcing people to things which they don´t bother.
It was the Zodiac Weapon Quest, forcing people to do FATEs which - let´s be honest - nobody did (except for level grinding which was then beaten by dungeons and roulette bonus) and so they populated the open world with this - which perfectly backfired, when 50s were zerging the areas before some low-lev even could get to a FATE (and perfectly timed for the PS4 launch *conspiracy*?)
many complained, not many liked, but they did because that´s the way for one of the best weapons...
Only few people craft and meld their equip, because droped equipment is superior and most ppl have multiple 50s and multiple Zenith´s - so the beloved Materia´s became worth less than the gear you spiritbonded...
Solution - make them a requierement for Zodiac weapon, *päm* prices skyrocketing, ...
Last days i read much complaints that housing area´s are wastelands... some bought their houses, and some don´t bother for it due to the still high prices... **
solution - make some very important elements, like breeding - for many who don´t specialiced their choco now the only way to get a achievment and an item... available only to houseowners...
That´s one thing i really dislike in this game, it feel like everything which is endangered being abandoned like FATE´s, they tune content to force people back to it...
** i COULD afford a house on my own, but somehow i don´t like the idea of spending ALL my savings since Beta to this...

Never a mind was changed on an internet board, no matter how good your arguments are...

It locks no one out. The only people that can't do it would be those that choose to not be a member of an fc, a guild, which is a fundamental part of an mmo. A lockout would be something like not allowing lalafells to take part in chocobo raising. In a fc but don't have a house? Work on raising the money together. There is no lockout.

Dude, go read a book.
I honestly don't get this attitude. I'm trying to. What nefarious method is SE using to force you to pay money for XIV? To force you to level multiple 50s, to do endgame, to not craft, to not make money, to grind? Did you have to sign a contract in blood that you will never play with other people?
...is there a tiny Japanese person on your shoulder, holding a tiny gun to your temple, screaming at you in engrish to do things?
Terrifying.

Only uninformed players complained.Last days i read much complaints that housing area´s are wastelands... some bought their houses, and some don´t bother for it due to the still high prices... **

The housing features (airship , Chocobo breeding) was known since ex CEO Wada became Mr. Housing (2012). We knew that we need a chocobo stable in our garden for it, and therefore also a house to have a garden.

Well that's boring. I love my chocobo VIVI but I won't be able to raise one without a FC? :/

I get what the issue is, but after listening to his comment about Free Company content from the 1st live letter, I'm glad that he's not letting "small" or "intimate" Free Companies (and/or linkshells) hold back creation of content and privileges for the rest.
While I think they took the size of FCs to the extreme in terms of FC content from the live letter day 1 (FC with minimum members versus 200 member FC); saying that they wouldn't make content or fights that could be attempted by larger FCs ("200-man") because there exist small FCs that could not attempt the same feat sort of felt like content is being held back due to "have-nots."
To be fair, that particular question was somewhat misconstrued to only focus on "content for large FCs" rather than "content larger FCs can enter together (read: server-side Crystal Towers)." But aside from that, I welcome the new perks to Free Company houses. If you're going to argue against the new Chocobo Stables, you might as well start with Gardening, which was released prior.
Saying that because you're not in a FC and being denied this sort of "content," is somewhat petty because it is easily remedied.
