Is there by any chance that SE will remove the Resistance Materias since they're pretty much unwanted or have no use in the game?
At least this should lessen the burden when we're spiritbonding and converting for our Novus weapon.

For now, they're kinda just filler materia that's your "lose" sort of thing when gambling. And yes, you are gambling when you convert to materia. On the up side, you can at least gamble with transmutation in hopes of getting a good materia equivalent. There's also the possibility to sell the trash materia for decent prices.
i think its a nessesary evil. its the systems way of saying you failed at SB'ing without losing everything. imagine if there was a chance to get nothing.
plus i think that's why they added the 5-to-1 melding guy to offset the drop rate from elemental materia.
I think they should add the resistance materia to str, dex, int, vit materia.
Because resistance materia alone its useless.
hmm good point on the transmutation which makes sense. For now, they're kinda just filler materia that's your "lose" sort of thing when gambling. And yes, you are gambling when you convert to materia. They are also often melded on gear you want to SB, so the process takes less time.
Why would they be unwanted?
They are good to increase the spiritbound speed on gear and to transfom them in random materia.
SB fodder, like others have said. Hardcore crafters burn through a LOT of trash materia.
Player
Or maybe gradually increase materia resist stats to the point they are actually used by people.
have resistance materia be used as materials in new Goldsmith crafting recipes
