Glitching Rave Party - Please help!

Ok in all seriousness this issue occurs mainly in primals, Where coloured graphics flicker and spin around the screen manically. I'm unaware if this is the game doing so or a problem with my GPU (GTX660) which is fairly new

If anyone knows anything on the issue and info would be fantastic.

    Thank you!

I'm not an expert on graphics cards, but I know a fair number of PC gamers and they tell me a GTX660 is a really good card, so it's probably not that. What settings do you have your graphics on currently? That might be the issue.

I run the game at Maximum. Which seems to cause no problem at all for me.

...other than the "Glitching Rave Party"? ;-)

I know the last few times I installed a GeForce driver, it also installed a program called "GeForce Experience" (or something similar; doing this from memory from work). If you have that on your machine, mess around with it for a bit. If you don't, maybe it's worth pursuing an install.

There's a feature in there that will optimize graphics settings for specific games (FFXIV:ARR is one it recognizes). You could try to let GeForce Experience optimize your settings and see if maybe that clears it up.

Your issue seems random, which makes diagnosis a pain. This is something easy to try.

Thanks, yeah it doesn't happen all the time. Mostly just on primals. I optimized the game in Geforce experience so i'll see how that goes, although it didn't really change anything in the terms of my own graphics settings. Unless it does some sort of background business that it doesn't state.

I run a gtx660 with no issues on max settings, might want to monitor the heat on the card while in primals

Glitches like that could be caused by a faulty graphics card, faulting RAM, faulting CPU, faulting motherboard, corrupt game data, corrupt DirectX, and/or corrupt Windows data. Do you have problems in any other games? Do you see any error or warning events in the Windows Event Log under application or system? Are you using a single GTX 660? I don't recall if there is a way for the FFXIV client to scan the filesystem for corrupted FFXIV files, but that is worth a shot. Possibly install FFXIV to a separate hard drive and test out that installations for graphical corruption.
