I'm really not sure what to say... You think it's more balanced for some players to be able to resist Sleep, completely counteract Bane, move faster (completely broken IMO) and clear objectives faster, than for some players to just have a minor boost in defense and offense? You would really rather Summoner be completely redundant against some groups, than simply having to push DPS a bit harder and focus on healing slightly more? You'd really rather some people be able to capture the flag faster, than simply have them put up a bit more of a fight?
Can someone please tell me what is wrong with someone having an advantage? If it's an unbeatable advantage, sure. That's an issue, but that isn't what Morale is. Do none of you enjoy being the underdog? I'm by no means a veteran at PvP, but I've been in plenty of matches where the other team had the Morale advantage. Winning those matches is second only to the very rare match that lasts more than a few moments.
I will admit, progress could be achieved through traits unlocked with Ranks, but that really seems to create a bigger problem... If I see a White Mage in their Swan outfit, I know they have an advantage. I can go in prepared to work a different strategy, or push DPS harder. If I go in and they have traits that let them move faster, or resist sleep? I'm completely unprepared for that.
If you're suggesting progression through Rank, then you're obviously not against players having an advantage, because in both cases players have an advantage. The only difference is I can see a players Morale advantage, while their traits are completely unknown to me. With that in mind, doesn't progression through more traits seem to give a greater advantage than Morale? Isn't it more balanced to give players a slight advantage with gear, than it is to leave players wondering why the cannot sleep their enemy?
