I think the class will not come out tell we are close to the next addon, they said before that Ninja and rouge is much farther a long then the gun class. We wont see Ninja tell 2.4 or so and we wont see Musketeer tell maybe 2.8 or something maybe.

Assuming 2.8 will even exists.

At the rate of the current 2.X storyline is heading we may see 2.X series end by 2.5 or 2.6 then the expansion will be released after hitting 3.0 contents.

After all the 2.X patches are only the number of major updates released since 2.0 was release and not the amount of Major Updates before 1st expansion is released.

Based on what Yoshi-p said... (paraphrasing) that it's not what we're expecting, I suspect that any use of the gun will be on a big cooldown or used as a limit break only. :-/

Perhaps, but on the flip side he said it 'was soon that we expected' and if I remember correctly he said to expect them before the expansion. I know he said at expansion is when we would see another Tank and Healer type, so it has to be before then.

If the gunner class relies on magic, then I hope they draw inspiration from the quick draw ability from XI. That would totally be OK with me!

I agree.. I think that's is the reason most are annoyed. We keep getting little tidbits that it's still in the works and coming, then they said that gunner and dagger coming sooner than you think please look to E3 but then there was no info on gunner at all. I mean maybe the gunner class is coming out soon with NIN, but it would be nice if they had said something like 'look forward to 'whatever' when we will give gunner info'.

I hope it comes out soon. I know SE wants to make it work right, but even concept art would be nice to see... or how it's going to work etc...
