Honestly I don't see the issue with it, if they were to set no limits to frontline then the skew of power would be out of wack.
The reason why they are setting this i80 limit with no morale influence is to make it more enticing for players to play the event where 72 people can play and not feel dicsouraged when they go up against others who had been able to get x gear.
I doubt this is something they are going to keep forever and with time they might add in morale/remove i80 cap but for now in order to get the most players to try it out it's best to set in a limit where people can truly play based on skill and not have handicap advantages of i100 pvp gear.

it's not perfect
so far regarding the PVP:
- 24 v 24 v 24
- there will be PVE monsters
- you will be able to change classes/jobs (?)
- the capture point/flag > you get points when it's in your control but it's influenced by the amount of players that are in there 1 gridanian vs 3 limsa = favor of limsa
- the match will start as long as there are 8-16 people on each team
- ilevel is synced to 80 and moral has NO INFLUENCE
Morale no influence... lol makes no sense. it's a pvp zone.. wait until it's official.
[QUOTE=Vittorino;2184707]mmo's are moving away from pvp gear man. ESO pve and pvp geared are shared, swtor still has pvp gear but they added a bolster system to non pvp gear so people don't get annihilated right away.my buddy (Aigs) is translating as much as he can with me on chat

I used to be all about pvp gear but after I quit swtor I realized I'm over it and the idea of needing gear to pvp just seems silly to me now.
Then Yoshida shouldn't have bothered with PvP gear at all... Why is it there? For Lv50 Wolves Den? Anyone who has that gear is bloody sick of Wolves Den, most who haven't gotten the gear are too...mmo's are moving away from pvp gear man. I had a sick feeling in my stomach back when he said Frontlines would be good for new players to get ready for real PvP, and I hate how right I was interpreting that comment. Wolves Den is "real" PvP... Ugh...
I may start referring to Frontlines as the Crystal Tower of PvP. Fun, but completely meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

All the power to ya boss, I'm just highly disappointed in the decision they made. Phenomenal set up to the area and I think it's stellar. Yet pvp just became futile in every regard. To those excited about it do your thing enjoy yourself. I'm out.
That depends on who you ask. To me arena is real pvp where true skill is shown (though arena was done poorly in this game). Large scale pvp imo while fun is nothing more than zerg fests and not real pvp. As for the pvp gear...I'm in the middle about it. I like pvp gear but at the same time I feel adding it was a bad idea and in general MMO's should start moving away from it.Then Yoshida shouldn't have bothered with PvP gear at all... Why is it there? For Lv50 Wolves Den? Anyone who has that gear is bloody sick of Wolves Den, most who haven't gotten the gear are too...

Tbh... no one likes playing super smash bros with items. Then Yoshida shouldn't have bothered with PvP gear at all... Why is it there? For Lv50 Wolves Den? Anyone who has that gear is bloody sick of Wolves Den, most who haven't gotten the gear are too...

I'm ganna call frontlines the 'final destination, no items, fox only' of PvP.
