No, as SE would have two people pay for two accounts. It's only logic they wouldn't allow an account to play with itself.

OP: First off, don't get into the habit of doing this. Most games have it in their ToS that sharing an account is a no-no. That said, best bet would be to contact customer support and see if it's possible. As I'm sure you're aware, you'll at minimum, need to pay for another copy of the game and start a new subscription. There may even be a surcharge for the transfer.

I’ve been wondering myself if it’s possible to take a character from your current account and transfer it to a new account.

That is exactly what I'm looking for is to have 2 account & pay for both. I know we would need a 2nd disc as well. I haven't checked the mog station. Ill check it later & if nothing else contact customer support to ask them.

The reason her toon isn't her own account is she doesn't play very often & didn't want to get 2nd copy of the game for us both to play together & her not like the game. She's never played a FF game before this one.

It's also against the terms to register if under the age of 18, you have to have a parent do it.

They've told me they are looking to the feasibility of splitting service accounts, not characters. Such as your a parent/husband/wife and you have 1 SEID but 2+ service accounts. While it is against the ToS to share the SEID, you won't see someone getting banned for paying for a service account for his/her kids/significant other.

It is a touchy subject and something I don't see an answer on for quite some time.

Perhaps a community team member could chime in on this exact situation (1 SEID, 2+ service accounts).

Technically, what the OP is asking, if is it possible transferring a character to another account.
He have an account with two characters and want make two accounts with one character each.

I guess this needs a separate support query by the OP. But I think the answer will be "NO", because this will open the road to "selling" characters to people. Most likely, your friend needs get a new account and redo her character from scratch.

Multibox is another thing, as long as that require already two different accounts at least.

As others have said, it's not possible. So one of you will have to buy another game copy, make their own account and start a new character if you want to be able to play at the same time.

You can play two different characters from the same SE account, but they have to be on separate service accounts under that SE account. I wound up with 2 beta invites, resulting in 2 service accounts under my SE account. I can login with 1 from each at the same time with no issues. The downside to this is that I have to pay double to keep both service accounts active.

Regarding the TOS, they make no sense anyhow. SE's FAQs state you can create a second service account in order to play with family. TOS states you cannot share your account with anyone. How is that supposed to work?

It's very unlikely that SE would facilitate a transfer of a character from one account to another as this would leave an opportunity for players to sell characters and such which would create a new nightmare with RMT.

Unfortunately I think one of you is going to have to start over.

OP: I do not believe SE have that service, to split 1 acct into 2

Multi-box: If you try to log on 2 char from the same data center, you will get an error message that you are already logged in on the 2nd char you trying to log in.

HOWEVER, if it is on a different data center, not sure if it's a loophole or not, you can log on just fine. I transferred from Mandragora to Balmung, but I made a new char to chat with friends still on Mandragora. Playing main on PC and alt on laptop.
