I hope this never happens; it is an easy out for people who've ruined their name in addition to people who buy/sell accounts.

you can name change... server transfer.... create and new character with your name on your server and transfer back... you'll be able to name change that way.. Kinda expansive but hey!

Actually an easy way to avoid this is to use the Lodestone Feature and just link all your names together via your ID. I understand/respect your opinion and in a way share it.

But I'm a roleplayer at heart since the age of 9. I want to change my entire character head to toe name included from time to time and I feel I should be allowed to do that.

There are already enough ways for people to game the system. People should not have to put up with trolls concealing themselves this way and coming back to troll and victimize the player base. Server transfer is already too much of get out of jail free card.

As a role player then, wouldn't the best solution be to simply roll a new character? Name changes in conjunction with using fantasia to change everything to do with your character doesn't particularly sit well with role playing. Surely it would kill any immersion you might get from role playing in the first place? I mean most people who role play will have entire back stories and lore worked out for their character...

I really don't understand THIS level of anger, the previous user's post was reasonable but yours seems like you've got some kind of hatred.

It's just a game. I highly doubt people would go to the huge trouble to rename themselves only to harass you, and if they do chances are you know them outside of the game.

I've actually never encountered that level of trollery, and frankly if I did I'd give the man Kudos for being an expert weirdo.

I have every class at 50 north of ilvl 75 (with exception to PGL which is level 40). I don't really want to level a new character up.

We had a player that was so hated on our server on xi that he literally rolled more chars so he could make a pt. The ENTIRE server hated this guy and he knew it very well, but it was nothing that he hadn't brought upon himself. Not only was he rude but he would completely rip off any ls he joined and would ninja loot everything he could then claim he didn't understand the loot rules, but ppl were onto him and just stopped inviting him.

Now think of how bad it would have been if he could change his name any time he wanted. Piss off and steal from one ls and then change his name/appearance and do it again, then again and again with other groups.

That is where that level of anger comes from.

And I agree about the rp thing, have you ever tried to change your name in rl, even taking on a nickname of your own choosing? Doesn't work too well so doubtful it fits into rp standards as much as rerolling would
