I like auto-attack. it make battle lot more smoother
Before this patch it was suck that when you press using skill and it not activate and have to press it again and again
also, not mentioned about infinite 111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111
so stop complaining, this is the feature that make this game more fun.
This is actually a really nice change for mages, because spells were limited to Stamina as well. Cure costs aside, this allows mages to cast more without having to wait for the gauge to fill up.
The pace of battle is definitely not awkward. Just ran through the toto-rak dungeon several times, and so far the base form of auto attack works nicely, and creates a less hectic atmosphere.

OK here was the problem with he old system first it limited you to much. When you attack you used stamina so you could not use an cure when you where low on hp cause the game has 3 limitations on you(Stamina,MP,recast) instead of 2(MP/recast). Also if you try to use an ability if you didn't have enough stamina you was locked into that attack till you had enough.....
This is how i tested the old system I used GLA for my testing
!st move: guard -10% stamina
2nd move: uses light slash -25% stamina recovered maybe 5%
3rd-5th move same action maybe got back like 3% this time cause i used the same action repeatedly.
5th move: now i'm sitting here waiting for some stamina so i can use an WS or an cure or an buff.
So basically you have to repeat that dull and boring process every fight with he old system.
Timed this fight before servers went down took me 1:22 to kill the R35 goats with old battle system. I Did 20 fights on the same level goats ended up with the same time almost every time but 1:22 was the fastest so i went with that
Now with he new system fighting the same mob i can do all of those actions much faster...
AA>light stab> AA> heavy stab> heavy slash> AA > Howling vortex> Raging strike>luminous spire >red lotus 2 and mob is dead.... Now with the new system i fought the same R35 goat 20 times and killed it in 37.9 secs. which was fastest time with the AA system.
So anyone saying the old system was faster is just in denial. Wish i could have recorded the testing but sadly i don't have the hardware to do so.

Nothing like good, old-fashioned empirical testing to prove things out.OK here was the problem with he old system first it limited you to much. I also think a problem is that people are feeling that shock of realizing the same skill/spell rotation they used before the patch isn't necessarily going to work as well now, and are going to have to change up their tactics. A lot of people like to complain about monotony, but they really loathe change a lot more.
yeah i did it cause i knew the Q.Q was gonna come and i love breaking down battle systems its my fav part about rpg's tbh lolNothing like good, old-fashioned empirical testing to prove things out.
